I don't know if I'd put his resume over guys like
Harry Greb
Archie Moore
Muhammad Ali
Ezzard Charles
Maxie Rosenbloom
You can make arguments for them.
Sam Langford doesn't have the list of champs on his resume (he was shut out of the title picture) but he was facing the top guys again and again and again and again.Comment

And he wasnt a boxer either, he was a brawler.well he was ON the show.. but im not sure if he was counted as one.. i think he was though... yeah u got a lot of them.... but seriously henry armstrong... 3 weight class titles all at the same timee?! thats CRAZY! and then i guess he moved up to middleweight.. which bert sugar said he DID WIN the fight.. but they gave it a draw... amazing
Perpetual motion they called it. He just kept his head down and threw combinations, Juan Diaz does a great imitation of Hank Armstrong.Comment

This is a great question to spark a conversation and make you really think about the history of boxing and all of its great fighters, but the fact of the matter is there is no absolute right answer. It is just too hard to compare fighters of different eras.Comment
