Skelton: "I'm Bringing Chagaev's Title Home"

Commonwealth (British Empire) heavyweight champ Matt Skelton (21-1, 18KOs) wants to prove the experts wrong when he challenges WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev (23-0-1, 17KOs) on Jan. 19 in Dusseldorf. Skelton has been listed as a 6-1 underdog. [details]

i dont see chagaev stopping skelton, he has a granite chin. however i do see him comprehensively outboxing him, and it could very well be embarrassing.

Skelton has a good chin. But he is there to be hit, a lot. That spells disaster against a guy like Chagaev, and Danny Williams and co. can't crack like Ruslan can.

Good luck to Skelton, hopefully he can bring the title home but I don't see it happening.

I think Skelton will take this one by split decision. I just don't see anything great about Chagaev especially after seeing the Ruiz fight. Skelton actually should be unbeaten because he beat Danny Willaims in their fight...

chageav has had some close fights with a few less than great fighters like ruiz after watching these fights i have become less confident in his ability to take on wlad, but i still feel he will beat skelton.

whoever wins this surely its just re-enforcing the sorry state that heavyweight is in.

Skelton can make any heavy look bad with his style. If he wins is another matter but it won't be pretty.
