How many people really knew who Williams was a year ago? He beats a guy that everyone says sucks in Margarito and now all these people are on his nuts? He still has a lot to prove, and time will tell. Knocking out bums at 160 is one thing, but could he really hang in there with someone like Pavlik? I seriously doubt it, and someone like Miranda at 168 would slaughter him. If he stays at 147, which I doubt he can for much longer, given 162 fight night weight vs Margarito, he stands a good shot at staying at the top for a while, and with the lack of deep talent at 154, he has a good shot there, but that's about it.

[QUOTE=nmuburner22;2993595]Thats the point..he will fight any and everyone.

He was already at 160..and had 13 KO's.

          He will own 147-154-160-168.....IMO.

147-154 - YES...I can see Williams owning everybody at 147 and picking up a belt at 154.

160-168 - NO...Williams would get his ass beat by Pavlik,Taylor,Abraham, etc. at 160. At 168...LOL, don't get me started.

To be fair Mitchell is a welterweight gate-keeper anymore. If you want to fight somewhat soft opposition to see where you stand, as a step up, you face Sharmba.

It'd be good for the sport. But i think Cotto beats Williams, and i could also see Cintron beating Williams. Its unlikely, but Williams is SOOO open, you have to admit, and with a puncher like Cintron, it could easily end with Williams far ahead on points
True but it's hard for most to get past his punch output, his stamina is amazing. His chin is stellar as well and disagree with Cintron winning the fight, Williams must be aware that he needs to learn how to use his jab which he does at time but he get drawn in to easily. This has it's advantages though Williams is no slouch on the inside unlike many other tall fighters.

The reason he might lose to Cotto is because of Cotto's body punching and with Williams there is alot of body to hit but if he sharpens up his skills up he can clear out 147-154. 160 will be too big of a jump in my opinion.

Paul Williams will never be p4p number1,imo.

He is a good fighter, i can see why he would be avoided. His workrate is top draw but his main attribute is his size advantage.

He will be a handfull for most but Cotto definately takes him at 147.

I could see him doin well at 154, picking a belt up no doubt. If he goes higher than that he would be nothin more than a contender. Without the size advantage he would struggle to make a big impact.

The only quality fighter Williams has faced is Margarito. In essense, all he's proven is that he is effective against an unimaginative target.

Paul Williams' insistence on calling out all of these fighters indicates to me that he is in serious desire of a big payday that opens the doors to future paydays. If he wants to help own cause, he should hire some competent PR team to help build his fanbase.

Chad Dawson will be p4p #1 and he will prove it in the ring.
