i agree looks like Peter Manfredo needs to learn this lesson

Some people are just not made for pain, others love the challenge and intensity, there's also the hope that some day you might be that one in a million shot that gets the glamor that boxing can provide.

        Definitely not for everyone.

I love boxing but I would never be good enough to turn professional and have a serious crack at it. I started too late. Having said that if I had started much earlier and managed to generate enough wins then a pro career would be something I would consider because the buzz of boxing and the buzz of winning is incredible. I don't mind the training and I get a buzz out of improving my sprints times but I have to admit that the instensity sometimes leaves me feeling drained and irritable.

12 rounds would be formidable but I felt like I could have gone fifteen in my last fight, I was so fired up and in good shape. It was stopped in the third!

Sounds like you hadn't a good chin, defense, stamina and no adrenalin in you.
If you get in there better prepared, it's still hard, but not as hard as you told.

i personally dont know what it is that makes me do it. its a paradox. i hate getting hit, but at a certain level, i love it, cuz i know not everyone can take beatings and give beating back at the same time, while in a ring, with no where to run. when i first stepped in the gym at 12, i almost pissed myself from all the hard work i seen guys doin and sparring and said right away it wasnt for me, trained for a while, sparred, started gettin AM fights, been doin it ever since. goin pro when i turn 25, and i think i'll do real well too. its something inside of u, either u got it or u dont. my opinion, some jus have it more than others i guess.

i agree , its about Character people who go to the gym for the 1st time & find it hard yet return the next day are Fighters hence the reason they come back & others dont

some people get battered in sparring return the next time others never attempt to step foot in gym again ,hence the term fighter

I've always taken pride in my toughness in whatever sport I've applied myself to. I may not have been the strongest or the fastest or the most skilled but I was always the one who would get back up from a big hit in rugby, the one who would not back down when a striker was through on my goal in football, the one who refused to tap in judo, and now the one who can take a good punch in boxing.
