Yea, I know he would get destroyed by Vlad. Vlad is really good. I was just saying he has the potential to be the best american heavyweight. Only seen him fight once though. and his opponent totally ******, so its tough to judge him too much.

I like watching Sultan, Vlad, Peter at heavyweight. Im starting to wonder if Chad Dawson might be able to put on some weight later and make a move to heavyweight. (representing the old hometown Connecticut, heh) He's only 25 and normally males fill in at about 28 years old.

That's what makes him even greater.

chad probably has the body to go up to heavyweight at some point but i think his chin would let him down.

i agree, im not sure how he would hold up at cruiserweight either, though the division doesent get much play there are some real tough fighters at cruiser who can drop a guy with one shot

Just messing with you. Yeah, Floyd was pretty much the only other Heavyweight besides Tyson to perfect the peakaboo style. It's too bad he didn't make the trip up to heavy a bit earlier and we missed out on a Marciano matchup.

Chad I think, will be a star in the LHW division for a long time to come. It would be a shame for him to move up to Heavy, where his power wouldn't carry and his chin would become much more suspect.

I can tell you.. from being alive as an adult then and now.... that this is a much deeper era than the 80's..

The fights are faster paced today.. and the the Athletics head and shoulders above.. The difference???.. The Nationality of the Boxers..

Nobody in the whole world is complaining except Americans..

You cant tell me Bone Crusher Smith would be ALL World today.. How about Pinky Thomas??

Give me a ****ing break.... These guys were chumps and no better than Sam Peter.. Or Calvin Brock..

You had 1 GUY ..1 measly GUY who could dominate... And you saw what happened when he finally fought someone with a bit of Skill..

You wanna talk ****ty heavyweight Eras??? lets talk the 80's OK???

              Amen brother Welt.

How else do you explain Evander fighting for a championship last year?
Or that seven foot goon who had the nerve to call himself a 'champion'.

As for the fact that there are no American blacks....only an ignorant fool would quickly suggest that race is why Americans complain about the state of boxing.

I,for one would welcome quality...no matter where it's from. And we certainly don't have it nowadays...
So yes, right now,the heavyweight division may as well be dead.

youre clearly either ignorant or biased. the top european heavies which are dominating the divison are absolutely not fat and out of shape. its the american fighters that are fat,,lazy and out of shape. chageav,,,wlad,,,sultan,,,virchis,,povetkin and a few others are all solid well rounded fighters . the biggest problem besides ignorance or biasness is that a lot of fans or so called fans havent seen these guys fight enough

The guys he mentioned were all world title holders fairly recently. That's his point, I believe.

He seemed to have all the tools to be the next great american heavyweight. He had no real power, but excellent defense and an outstanding jab. I really think he would destroy Calvin Brock. Anyone seen him fight since then? maybe it was just me, but I thought he looked legit at the time.
eh,,,johnson drew with timur ibragimov who was beaten easily by brock in a one sided fight
