    Is the heavy-weight division dead?

I was reviewing the top contenders and champions in the division and I don't see any stand-out stars that could revive the popularity of the division. I mean think about it...who in the divsion could sell-out a major venue or bring high PPV numbers similar to what Tyson did in the late eighties and early nineties?

My point exactly. Even if the division had a unification with the "so-called" champions, I still would be interested watching any of the match-ups!

No. How do you expect people to keep following a division which was saturated with excellent athletes with great boxing ability that has changed to flabby, slow sluggers? the only actual throwback heavyweight is Wlad.

Sorry... This Bloody place is sooooooo Frustrating sometimes..

I can tell you.. from being alive as an adult then and now.... that this is a much deeper era than the 80's..

The fights are faster paced today.. and the the Athletics head and shoulders above.. The difference???.. The Nationality of the Boxers..

Nobody in the whole world is complaining except Americans..

You cant tell me Bone Crusher Smith would be ALL World today.. How about Pinky Thomas??

Give me a ****ing break.... These guys were chumps and no better than Sam Peter.. Or Calvin Brock..

You had 1 GUY ..1 measly GUY who could dominate... And you saw what happened when he finally fought someone with a bit of Skill..

You wanna talk ****ty heavyweight Eras??? lets talk the 80's OK???

Ok, which HW's are comparible to Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson, and Lewis? I'm talking physically and skillwise?

That was the 90's.. perhaps the deepest Era ever....

And yet some of the guys today could still give 'em hell... Both Klitschko's would have been competitive in the 90's.. If Bowe had problems with Golota and was afraid of Lennox... was he really THAT good???

Holyfeild.. Was freak of nature... Not common at all.. but a Once every generation kind of guy.. he was special..
Does that mean Everyone around him was beter too? Of course not..

Lennox.. Big Guy.. good jab.. Average Chin.. beatable on his worst Nights.. Unstoppable when on his game..
Sorry I can Compare Wlad right there whether you like it or not..

Tyson... Dominated a Weak era.. fell apart every single time he fought someone with skill...
                  and Lost... BY KO...
