Floyd Mayweather : "Cut the middle man out and see what you can get. You were talking about paying me $2 or $3 million when it really should have been $6 million. And once I cut the middle man out, it became $15 or $30 million."

Floyd believes if he promotes the fight with Cotto he will earn a lot more than the greedy Arum, Even Cotto will earn more If he leaves Arum and fights Floyd without him.

Remember when Dan Goosen won the bid of the Williams-Margarito fight? That was because Arum was offering Margarito, his own fighter less money for the Cotto fight and Goosen offered Margarito more money.

Floyd has said that Arum has shafted money from him in the past, that is the reason he left him.

There's also the fact Arum was quoted saying "Let the blacks and the latinos fight and we collect the money outside the ring"
That might, just might have something to do with it.

All of you guys are wrong. This goes way back. Floyd felt like Arum didnt promote him well. People forget how things change. Floyd just started being the man. Even when he was undefeated and winning alot of fights, he was always pretty much under the radar. He wasnt that high in the P4P debates and his fights werent the big deal like the other stars. He's always been so mad at Arum for not getting him on PPV. He never had one PPV fight under Arum until his Gatti fight came which was coincedently the last fight in his contract. Its too late. He always felt that he shouldve had PPV fights and been promoted much more greatly. His name wasnt half as big as Oscar, Tito, Shane, RJ, and so on. He felt he was on that level.

Not only did Arum not get him the noteritey but when Floyd talked about it, Arum would always get smart. He would basically say that it was Floyd's fault and that he's not a PPV fighter. Then Floyd has always said that he had a slave contract. His money was pretty much the same in every fight. He signed with Arum when he was young in his career and signed a long term contract. No matter how many big fights he got, he always made the same and he didnt like that. He thought when he was fighting guys like Chico & Castillo then he should be making more money. He thought the Chico fight and definatly Castillo 2 shouldve been on PPV. He felt that Arum was taking too big of a cut and that he tries to get rich off his fighters. Making them fight eachother while he keeps all the change. He doesnt really care about them individually. He tried to treat Floyd like he was Margarito & Castillo but Floyd wansnt a dummy.

Arum tried to pimp Floyd because he knew he had him under that long contract and then at the end of it he tries to step up. Thats what alot of cruddy promoters do, just like Frank Warren. They ***** you the whole contract and then try to get you the big stuff at the end so you will resign but fighters arent falling for it anymore. Floyd hates him and if it was up to him then he would never sign a fight with him again. He doesnt want Arum to make any money off of his name just like Oscar didnt. People on here try to make it sound like Floyd payed him off to get away from Margarito. Thats a joke. Floyd saw a way to get out of his contract and knew he could get the big fight with Oscar without Arum and he went for it. You see how much bigger Floyd is now since he left Arum? He always felt Arum held him back and kept him on the low. He felt that if he was with Arum then he wouldve never became a big name star and he's right

Arum took a high percentage of Floyds paydays, and after he split with him, Arum has attempted to trash him every chance he gets.

Floyd doesn't need to work with Arum. And he doesn't want to do business with the non-boxers in the promotional world. That's the good Floyd
