I personally think Floyd will fight Cotto but on his time. I also think that Floyd is the best in the sport at mind games and that Arum's disses wont make Floyd budge one bit. Many people including myself have always wanted to see Floyd vs Mosley. I think the Hatton fight was the 1st time that Floyd felt pretty secure at WW. I honestly believe thats why he didnt fight Margarito. He didnt fight him because at the time he was just a super small WW that couldnt even come in at the WW limit and didnt want to lose just because he was too small. The fact is he'll never be a real WW let alone a big strong one but I do think him moving up to fight Oscar at 154 made his body grow. Maybe part of it was because Hatton was a small guy but Floyd looked much more bigger then he did against Zab & Baldy.

However, I dont think one fight is enough to fully prove it to himself. By fighting Shane 1st he can again judge better his size & strength at WW without going against one of the super big guys right now. It will be a nice payday and he will have beat a guy that alot of people said he was scared to fight. In the meantime Cotto beats Clottey and it sets up the huge Cotto vs Mayweather fight. Williams can fight Quintana and then he can fight the winner of the Margarito-Cintron rematch. Then maybe the winners can meet or by that time Zab will have built his name back up and Williams can fight Zab will Floyd takes a few months off and then its Williams vs Floyd to finish it off.

You cant say that Floyd would be fighting Cotto's scraps because Cotto has fought a ton of guys after Floyd did and alot of people still think Shane would beat Floyd or give him hell. Would you be fine with it?
sont want to see it at this point. shane has lost a step, and although he is still very good he is not good enough to beat floyde. floyd needs either cotto, cintron, or williams so he can unify!

Nice fight to watch but totally unnecessary to boxing right now. Skill wise Floyd is still Floyd!! & wit the Hatton fight, KO Delight Special-UK-fish-&-chips-wrapped-in-newspaper-type-****, Money look like he's even better than before. Shane, who's Shane?? Chain-snatch, jive talkin', madicon muthaf*&%ah, who's he beatin'?? Who's he BEAT?? Shane is the guy you're talkin' bout, use to have skills, speed, power, killah combos throughout the fight, all sorts of tactics wit the clinchin & the spinnin. On top of that, MONEY's up here & SHANE's down here these days, why fight other than on some De La Hoya/Floyd, Tarver beatin' up Rocky, exhibition-type ****?? Now can u Dig Dat????

this is one of those fights whos luster has phizzled away. but for some reason I still want to see it. mayweather should've fought him a long time ago or atleast before cotto. I've been pulling for this fight for atleast 3 years. This is very frustrating about boxing nowadays. Back in the days, you got what you wanted. Ali fought the top 10 heavyweight boxers of his day. Robinson fought the top fighters, even some more than 5 times. I still think mayweather has more talent than any fighter I've ever seen but, he needs to give me what I(a die hard boxing fan) want, and what I want is for him to fight the top 8 current fighters that are in a fightable weight class for him: Cotto, Williams, Forrest, Witter, Margarito, Clottey, De La Hoya(rematch) and..... Mosley. Is that too much to ask? I mean ppl paid less for more back in the days, why can't I get this? Boxers are paid way more now and do less to earn it. According to todays boxers paychecks, Robinson would be a billionaire. Is anyone else feeling my pain?

I think most people would rather see Floyd-Cotto now. I thought Mosley would beat Cotto but that didn't happen. Floyd doesn't have to fight him now.

Specifically in this case I think Cotto fought like a man who deserves the next prize and Mosley did not. Shane needs to get an impressive win or performance or sit the **** down. This is the playoffs in the number one division in the sport.

and besides, the cotto fight was a tie if anything. just cuz judges rewarded cotto, doesn't mean they are right. and if you are a boxing fan you should know this.

at this stage in Shanes career Floyd would embarass him.

I dont want to see Shane go out like that.

Mosley didnt look old in his fight against Cotto, he put up a good, hard fought battle and came up just short. I don't think he could beat Floyd, but do to his incredible speed, I see him giving Floyd a few problems here and there.
