    What About Mayweather-Mosley?

I happened to think that Mosley looked either old or weird against Cotto. Either way, I seem to be in the minority and alot of people thought it was a close fight in which Shane showed very well in. If thats the case then would you accept it if Floyd fought him?

I personally think Floyd will fight Cotto but on his time. I also think that Floyd is the best in the sport at mind games and that Arum's disses wont make Floyd budge one bit. Many people including myself have always wanted to see Floyd vs Mosley. I think the Hatton fight was the 1st time that Floyd felt pretty secure at WW. I honestly believe thats why he didnt fight Margarito. He didnt fight him because at the time he was just a super small WW that couldnt even come in at the WW limit and didnt want to lose just because he was too small. The fact is he'll never be a real WW let alone a big strong one but I do think him moving up to fight Oscar at 154 made his body grow. Maybe part of it was because Hatton was a small guy but Floyd looked much more bigger then he did against Zab & Baldy.

However, I dont think one fight is enough to fully prove it to himself. By fighting Shane 1st he can again judge better his size & strength at WW without going against one of the super big guys right now. It will be a nice payday and he will have beat a guy that alot of people said he was scared to fight. In the meantime Cotto beats Clottey and it sets up the huge Cotto vs Mayweather fight. Williams can fight Quintana and then he can fight the winner of the Margarito-Cintron rematch. Then maybe the winners can meet or by that time Zab will have built his name back up and Williams can fight Zab will Floyd takes a few months off and then its Williams vs Floyd to finish it off.

You cant say that Floyd would be fighting Cotto's scraps because Cotto has fought a ton of guys after Floyd did and alot of people still think Shane would beat Floyd or give him hell. Would you be fine with it?

Floyd only fights under rigged circumstances whether it's De La Hoya who fought like he had no intention of winning or Hatton where the referee and officials wouldn't let it be anything but a Floyd Mayweather exhibition where Hatton wasnt' allowed to do anything but lose and let floyd exhibit his talents.

Mosely has the ability to beat Floyd in a fair fight though. No question. I think at least.

Neither were his reflexes. It was a very game Shane though so I won't elaborate further than that.

An aging great fighter against a young bull; that was Mosley-Cotto. You're right, Shane put up a good, close fight against the younger man but just couldn't quite pull out a victory. I don't think Shane was disgraced in any way. That said, I don't see the purpose behind Mosley-Mayweather now. Let me tell you why:

In every single fight there's always a chance you can lose. One punch rattles you too much, something is wrong with your game that night, and injury stops you while you're behind on the cards...Mayweather knows that. Floyd only fights mega-money fights and Shane is not a star like he used to be. Cotto-Mosley did respectable, not amazing, in PPV numbers - and Cotto was the draw.

What do I think of Mayweather-Mosley? I think Floyd would get eaten alive by the media and fans for taking Cotto's scraps rather than signing to fight him- and the risk would be higher than the reward. The money wouldn't be there, the respect wouldn't be there, the reasons are just slim at this point.

                  It won't happen.

Shane Mosley is nothing but a good name anymore. He just lost to a champion, why should he get another shot ? I'd say he needs to beat somebody before having the rights to call him a contender for Mayweathers crown.
A loss ain't gonna earn you nothing but a rematch, not a shot at a different champion.
