What About Mayweather-Mosley?

Cotto clearly beat Mosley and outboxed him. Floyd would win even more convincingly. Mosley is damn near shot.Comment

Same with me I was all gung ho about a Mayweather/Mosely fight, but even though Sugar Shane put up a great fight against a young fighter in Cotto, he wasn't as fast as he used to be and his reflexes were slower. Mayweather would win, maybe not by total blowout, but he would win rather comfortably.Comment

Mayweather would get no credit for fighting him coming off a loss just like he gets no credit for Judah.Comment

I wouldn't mind seeing the fight but there are much better fights out there for Mayweather and he won't get the credit for beating Mosley because of Mosley's loss to Cotto.
Mayweather wins a clear UD in a competitive fight.Comment

i agree, floyd would get ripped by the media big time. i dont see it happening either. An aging great fighter against a young bull; that was Mosley-Cotto. You're right, Shane put up a good, close fight against the younger man but just couldn't quite pull out a victory. I don't think Shane was disgraced in any way. That said, I don't see the purpose behind Mosley-Mayweather now. Let me tell you why:
In every single fight there's always a chance you can lose. One punch rattles you too much, something is wrong with your game that night, and injury stops you while you're behind on the cards...Mayweather knows that. Floyd only fights mega-money fights and Shane is not a star like he used to be. Cotto-Mosley did respectable, not amazing, in PPV numbers - and Cotto was the draw.
What do I think of Mayweather-Mosley? I think Floyd would get eaten alive by the media and fans for taking Cotto's scraps rather than signing to fight him- and the risk would be higher than the reward. The money wouldn't be there, the respect wouldn't be there, the reasons are just slim at this point.
It won't happen.Comment
