Albiet, IMO Ray is a better technical fighter, 147lb was his bread & butter! Roy started off as a middleweight & balooned up to heavyweight, but was just a fast & power as Ray...so i would have to say Roy Jones just b/c he is so much bigger than Ray Robinson...but you never know?

I suppose you'd take Pep to beat Tyson because he "old school" and ranks higher as a P4P ATG?

But if we take out all the technical stuff, Roy is the best fighter of my generation that i've seen, including floyd. At his prime, he is a better fighter then SRR

What do u mean take out all the technical stuff...lmaooooooooooo

jones was athletic...but was never technical....

thus when he slowed down.... he got knocked out twice.........

floyd is both athletic and technical...he's even slowed down ....

but he keeps winning...........because he's techinical...............

lets throw out having to make the basketball into the basket....

im the best player in the history of the nba ...better than jordan....

Still, a prime Roy was better than a prime Floyd easily the way I see it, based on performance against top comp and based on simply watching the two fight.

no disrespect but at 160 you cna easily ask yourself who in history beat Roy Jones Jr.. He stops robinson..

hagler is the guy to give him the best fight though.. still roy wins it.

I disagree, Jones was and is very technical, the reason why he resorted to his atletic talents was because he didn't need to be technical. However every time he finished his opponents he was able to avoid shots and accurately punch them into submission.

The reason Tarver and Johnson KOed him was because he thought he still had his atleticism. The second Tarver fight was a perfect example, Jones won the first round purely by using his natural talents, but overestimated his previous abilities and got a flush hit. His fight with Hanshaw however had him stand toe to toe and use a fighting style similar to Winky Wright's, block and counter effectively = a pure boxing style.

Mayweather has slowed down slightly due to him moving up in weight, Jones simply doesn't have the boxing instinct he used to. Comparing their diminishing in speed is like comparing apples and oranges

That doesn't make sense. Because someone thinks that the best fighter pound for pound of all time can beat another p4p guy not at his best weight then they think that a featherweight old timer can beat a top heavyweight?

Sorry, but at MW- Roy would win. No disrespect to the great, but he was well past his prime years, when at MW.
