And the "distracted by his corner" angle is specious. It's like saying Tyson would have beaten the count if he didn't go for his mouthpiece. The fact he went for the mouthpiece is already proof he wasn't with it anymore, and the same for Taylor. He did not recover within ten, he loses. That's the only rule in boxing that matters.

There were officially 5 seconds to go when Steele stopped the fight. Had he let the fight go on after he gave the 8 second count to Taylor, then 9 seconds would be left on the clock.

Was Taylor counted out? We both know the answer to that. It was a TKO, and a TKO is ALWAYS a judgement call. You can agree with Steele's call, but you can't spin that into something it isn't.Comment
