STRIKE 1:
"Unknowingly, yes, some of the substances they are talking about, were being used as part of the workouts," Mosley told ESPN.com. "I didn't know what the (heck) it was.
"I didn't know anything about that stuff. It was something given to me, pushed up on me. I'm a health freak-type of guy. I like to have everything organic, natural."
According to the SI.com report, evidence seized during a raid of BALCO showed that Mosley had blood work done measuring his hematocrit levels — the volume of red blood cells. There was also a calendar in Mosley's file with July 26 circled accompanied by the word "start'' and the letter "e" by Aug. 8 and it noted that his levels had increased from 44 at the start to 52.2 (an abnormally high level) on Aug. 8, according to the report. In his statement Mosley does not address the issue of whether he took EPO.
Mosley said he recalled taking two blood tests "to see if I was low on iron or calcium."
Strike two:
How is EPO used? Who will give it to me?
EPO is given by injection. It may be injected directly into a vein (intravenous) during dialysis or under the skin (subcutaneous). It may be given by a dialysis nurse or by the patients themselves.
Mindbat,
The suppliers did provide alibis... until they got busted. Nothing will make
that supplier spill the beans like an immunity agreement or a plea deal.
If you remember, Victor Conte came to CJ Hunter's (Marion Jones' husband) defense on national TV during the Olympics. But when BALCO got busted, Victor was forced to tell the truth. The feds seized all the records. Including the doping schedules and test results for many athletes...including Shane Mosley.Comment

I dont know what to think.
I have suspected Mosley in the past. The way he looked at 154 looked artificial. By the same token, he looked like **** at 147. The past few years he has looked bony.
I do know one thing and one thing only. Steroids have not been proven to increase athletic performance in boxing.Comment

Rob... are you a complete idiot?
THEY HAVE MULTIPLE BLOOD TESTS SHOWING BEFORE AND AFTER RESULTS WITH/WITHOUT EPO.
EPO was a key part of the "Balco program". All of the other athletes got EPO.
Shane admitted to giving blood samples. And to taking their products.
How are you THIS daft?Comment

Do you believe that steroids improve athletic performance?
Do you believe that EPO improves stamina?Comment

In some sports yes. But not in this case and not in the case of alot of fighters in my opinion.
Shane Mosley was already an olympic alternate and a good fighter coming up in the amateurs. I find it hard to beleive that Roids really helped him that much aside from bulking up to 154. Probably helped him recover from injures. But other than that...he has been a good fighter since he was 12.Comment

Sooo, steroids didn't help barry Bonds. He was already a great player. Since he was 8.In some sports yes. But not in this case and not in the case of alot of fighters in my opinion.

Steroids didn't help Lyle Alzado. He was already a great football player.
Steroids didn't help Marion Jones. She was already a great sprinter and basketball player.
Steroids didn't help Floyd Landis. He was already a great cyclist.
Steroids didn't help Roger Clemens. He was already a great pitcher.
People forget that steroids are not for the 36 minutes in the ring. Or that 60 minutes on the field. Or the 10 seconds on the track. They are for that day-to-day training. It allows you to train longer, harder and more frequently. And the benefits of that training is the event performance.Comment
