It's probably just Floyd talking out loud, but still....this is huge news to me if it's true that's he's even giving it serious thought.

Because even to have a shot, he'd have to train at least a year in other martial arts.

Especially when he'd be beaten and embarrassed, and it would just kill all the momentum boxing has. I swear if this springs up more mma vs. boxing debate my head will explode. Let the two sports be seperate.
Even Dana White says Boxing and MMA can coexist. He also said hes doing a great job of putting life into MMA(which is true) and people like Don King are sucking the life right out of it.

they should put two boxers against each other in MMA..how cool would that be? like Hatton vs. Margarito in MMA or something...just to mix it up

          Boxing is not going away....

the Best boxing match is more glorious than the best UFC match....

Coralles vs Castillo or Cotoure vs Lidell

Both sports will be around but the hating needs to stop...

Floyd might prove doubters wrong...it doesnt take a rocket scientist to learn how to sprawl or do a Kimora....any surfer can do that...

lets get more detailed about this also...

a welterweight in boxing is a a lightweight in the UFC...

sooo....Floyd at 147 will be fighting possibly a Jens Pulver since he talked about dropping weight after getting smacked around by BJ Penn...

              For the topic:

Floyd has all the talent, all the ability to compete in MMA if he took time and learned, but look at Floyd: he is already breaking down and is 30 years old. No point to it now. If he was 20, sure, I woul say take some time, and I mean "time", and get prepared.

You have to learn how to be a "complete" fighter, which not only takes time to learn, but takes time preparing the body.

It doesn't take years and years likes some may suggest, but it does take time. And, I don't think you can use the military martial arts which can be learned a bit fast, but is basically a 2 move and you die type art.

We also have to remember people like Floyd, Tyson, etc. aren't the "norm."

It must just be a coincidence that the best MMA fighters have been championship wrestlers since they were like 10 or BJ Penn was the youngest BJJ champ ever. Or Karo was in Judo when he was 4.

                  Mayweather going into MMA!!!?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considering a move to MMA after talks with new "friend" Mark Cuban. I for one feel this is a mistake seeing how he is boxing's biggest star and is going to get thrashed by MMA guys looking to prove that MMA is better than boxing. On the other hand he could do well and prove that he is the modern day Achillles. What do you guys think?

PS: Rampage isn't even that good, nether was Chuck Lidell.

well my rampage remakr was just to someone who said something about mayweather ducking rampage and i just brought up the vast difference in weight

and it's just a wait and see period with this, because it wouldn't surprise me at all that this is all a hoax and just something to have people talking like it is right now

theres already a thread on this...

how come most people think boxers can't hang in MMA

theres a lot of "MMA" fighters that start out just wrestling or only one fighting discipline and gradually grow...its not that complicated...

a guy is either going to attack you with punches, kicks, or he is gonna grab you to try to take you down....Floyd can figure it out im sure...
