Just skimmed through the Souleymane M'Baye vs Gavin Rees fight...not a good fight and Rees looks very small with little power.

Now that's only one fight so maybe it was a bad night, but he isn't better than Witter.

Junior Witter may hold a paper title but as yet he has beaten NOBODY to warrant a Shot at Hatton.
He was dire against Euro & British level opposition in Kotelnik & Lynes.
In fact he got a hometown Warren decision against the Feather fisted Kotlelnik.
He was extremely fortunate to win the VACANT title against another Fighter who had done NOTHING to warrant a title shot.
Any real boxing fan will see this and that title holders do NOT necessarily mean they are the best in their division.
For example Gavin Rees is a WBO champ.
Witter needs to concentrate on fighting REAL contenders who are World renowned.
But he is no doubt too late in the day at 33-34 yrs old.
Perhaps he could fight Urango for starters and do a better job than Hatton to gain some recognition.

If he believes in his heart that he cant beat Floyd or cotto for that matter he should retire, theres nothing left for him to prove at 140. There is no point him fighting british jww's in England
On the same terms as Lennox I see. I thought the same way but it looks as if Hatton is going to continue and fight at 140.

A rematch with Floyd will not work in the USA so it will have to be in England.

If and when Floyd does come back, he will have to face someone like Cotto or Williams at 147, Forrest at 154, or he will lose respect. No time for Hatton. If it was a close fight, then yes, I would say a rematch was in order.
It's not like Hatton was the Champion going in or was ill, didn't train, etc.

I don't see him beating Floyd, and many would agree.

I would like to see Ricky face Cotto, but I doubt it will happen.

Urango would prove nothing. Witter would have to go after whoever holds a title, which he seems to be doing with calling out both Hatton and now Paulie.

          OK, so no Witter.

Let us move on. Who is Hatton to face that warrants his attention?

words from floyds camp. "if it dont make money then it dont make sense"

No other fight apart from oscar makes as much money as a rematch against hatton
especially looking at the british ppv numbers. If that was on prime time here instead of 4am it would do 1.5 million, plus if it was at wembley it would get 80 000 people on the gate.
Hes not earning that much money fighting anyone else

To be honest I think he should fight witter and in 3-4 months, not only to shut him up but beacause he said he wants to give back to the fans and beating his main domestic rival would do that imo, they would be able to sell out a stadium easily, all on the back of hattons name and position in the uk regardelss of his first defeat.

Hatton should only fight witter if they both agree to give all the cash to charity, then u would see how much witter wanted to fight him

There is still one problem, no matter how much money Floyd could get fighting in England, which it would have to be, and be on PPV England, he will get ripped to shreds by Americans/media since it wasn't deemed a close fight.

But who knows, maybe he will do it, but he will question the ref.

I like a best out of three scenario, but Floyd was the Champion going in and he did control and knockout Hatton so there might not be a point, at least not legacy wise...money wise, yes. Floyd was also the favorite going in so it doesn't help...only upsets help for a rematch.

He could fight Oscar for two reasons, money and because it was seen as a close fight.

Legacy wise, Cotto, Williams and Forrest, with Cotto being the bigger PPV out of the three.

problem is who can witter fight apart from hatton both have a free slot to fight in the next 4-5 months. the one thing i don't understand is there are people who honestly don't want to see hatton fight witter despite being bitter rivals the ring recognised champ against the number one contender. I have seen the videos of witter calling out hatton and the hatton fans greatly exaggerated what witter said its just an excuse not to make the fight.
