I know why Witter wants to fight Hatton just now but it isn't going to happen so he should forget about it, move on and try to get famous himself.

This was already discussed in another thread.

You cannot blame a guy for wanting to fight the best, especially since he has been calling Hatton out for years. Witter has a title, why not fight him?

There is no other more deserving 140 pound fighter to fight Hatton.

I also mentioned that Witter was 33 and had the longest tenure of any 140 pound fighter...not losing since fighting a young Zab Judah. Now compare that with the rest, Witter deserves his shot.

Witter might have had his shot by if he had handled things differently but as it stands he won't get near Hatton until 2009.

2009 is to far, 2008 is a must.

What has he done wrong, especially compared to the way Paulie is talking about Hatton?

And remember, Hatton talked trash about Mayweather...it's business.

I don't care if someone hurts your feelings, if the guy earned a shot through tenure and fights, that's all you need.

            Witter vs. Hatton, 2008.

I hope Ricky can come back strong, as strong as he was prior to Floyd, but there is no telling in boxing.

witter is a good fighter, but has little drawing power and earned his title in an eliminator. he did not beat a champion to get it! when he stepped up in class against zab he choked, looked amateurish, and lost 118-110. he has had time to fight the top guys in the division like paulie etc... but not until now that hatton wants paulie has he called these guys out! so for all this nonsense about how deserves this or that i am not going for it! he has shown nothing to make him a superstar in or out of the ring, so stop riding the guys jock like he is the next big thing. he has an awkward style and some skill but he is nothing special. let him get some big wins and make his own name! till than he is the only one to blame for his shortcomings in the respect, and big fight departments! yeah he has called out hatton forever, but as stated earlier who the **** is this guy and what has he done to deserve a shot at the big money? u dont get to be a millionaire by riding other guys coattails alone. u need to produce in your own right. dont give me the bull**** of his paper title either! we all want the big fights, and this as of now is not!

                    Witter vs. Hatton, 2008.
Personally I don't think Witter has done anything other than try to hitch hike a ride to fame on the Hatton wagon. People think he deserves a shot based on an impressive win over Harris and, eh, well that's it. Hatton wants a fight in the UK, an easy fight probably, that does not involve Junior Witter. After that it will be Malignaggi because it means he can fight in MSG which means Witter is out the picture until 2009 and I'm guessing it will be the mid to late part of the year.
