was Hatton really that good against Mayweather?

Come on guys lets get realistic. He landed one good shot in the first round and you can argue he won 2 rounds but he got knocked down after throwing the same sort of wide shot that Floyd was taking the piss out of in 24/7. His footwork on the night was terrible, he was getting beat on the inside and he tired early. He didnt do anywhere near as good as Judah and yet he is getting so much credit for his performance.

I dont think so. He made Floyd work physically but it seemed like floyd was just humoring him at times.

even when Floyd staggered, Hatton had to be on his foot. I was wondering why HBO didn't show the replay after claiming Hatton had staggered Floyd. I was like yeah right, that looks like a clear instance of stepping on the foot. And of course they neglected to show it lol

he would have done better if the ref wasnt biased against him, but the fact is that Floyd could have had the KO in any round and Hatton just doesnt have the reach to outbox floyd.

He did better then most. No better than Judah or Oscar, though. To be honest. He made him work by not giving up. But.. that doesn't account for doing work for YOURSELF. It just means the other guy worked.

Hatton was doing a solid job early. Granted he wasn't winning rounds but he was doing a solid job establishing his pace, and pressuring Floyd. The problem is he wasn't landing or throwing enough. There were a lot of times when he could've landed something big but he'd opt to walk in and wrestle Floyd to the ropes.

Either he didn't have a strategy or he completely abandoned it early in the fight. Mayweather never wore down even with the constrant clinching/wrestling routine. Had Hatton have had an actual gameplan, who knows. But landing 6 punches a round and walking into everything your opponet throws will not win you a fight.

And you cant give him credit for pressuring early on. HES A PRESSURE FIGHTER and it wasnt very educated either

He done well in several rounds but as the fight progressed so did the frequency of his mistakes but I have no doubt that Hatton can contend with any of the top names in the sport.
