Witter and Hatton need to eliminate the competition and fight eachother in 2009. If they are still around, and have done what I suggested, that would be huge.

Running your mouth off constantly isn't the way to get a fight in my opinion, just beacuse it worked for Hatton doesn't mean Witter should use it aswel. He should just beat whoever's put in front of him then maybe he'll gain a bit more respect from Hatton and get his shot. At the minute I think Hatton just see's him as a brash talking little prick that aint on his level.

Witter is the oldest of the title holders, is he not?

You cannot keep letting this guy get up there in age without fighting him, that's a shame.

Paulie is young.
Torres is young.
Hopkins is young.

Witter has tenure...it's time to fight him.

I understand why Hatton might want to fight Paulie, 3 reasons. (1) Paulie holds the IBF title, same belt Hatton won from Tszyu (2) Paulie is a Yank
(3) Paulie doesn't hit hard

But still, Paulie isn't as deserving as Witter, who not only hasn't lost in about 7 years, he is 33 years old, he holds a belt most fighters tend to go right after, the WBC, and he is from the same country as Hatton.

It was always Ricky's dream, since 1989, to win the British title, but when he did Junior Witter ran into the ring and started pulling faces at Hatton's cuts, and then tried gatecrashing the post-fight interview



This is not where it all started, Witter had been bad-mouthing Hatton since Feb/Mar '99 saying that he'd fought the better fighters while Hatton was getting more attention, and how Hatton was a brawler fraud and the rest of it, basically just jealous (and still is)

Fights like this, in my opinion, need build up. I'm thinking about this from a business point of view, just like both fighters are. If thsi fight is to happen, it should happen AS BIG AS POSSIBLE. Over THERE, it'd be big. But in America, it can still be bigger.

Imagine is Witter takes out Torres, and Hatton takes out Paulie, maybe one of them take sout Hopkins and the other takes out Holt. THEN they fight eachother over there. Hopefully, the majority of these fights happen on American TV, and that fights a big PPV for them. I'd like to see the fight happen sooner. I'm speaking REASONABLY and for business sense.

Have it happen next year, and it doesn't do as well as it could.

It sucks that he's the oldest, but it's not like he's 40.

If you don't speak, nobody hears you. It worked for Ali, it worked for Hatton, it worked for Floyd...it can work for Witter.

Witter will end up like Archie Moore. Keep fighting everybody while you are avoided by the Champion. This is also why Archie decided to dish out a huge sum of money to promote his calling out of Rocky Marciano, and it still took time.


Witter has not lost since 2000 and that was against a PRIME Zab Judah. He is 33 years old, and has won a title. What more does he have to do?


Paulie talks more trash than any fighter and yet he is deserving of a shot?

I would be pissed off too if I was 33, haven't lost in 7 years against a great fighter, and is constantly being avoided by someone in your own country.

Witter gave Hatton credit for the victory but also posed the challenge which Hatton has avoided for 7 years since. It was hardly a gatecrashing, the TV team had Witter clearly setup for this interview along with Hatton and Thaxton in the hope of generating interest for the fight. This is an example of how false information spread by the media and Hatton fans has completely distorted the whole Witter / Hatton fued.

Thank you very much mate..Finally someone with sense, I was there when witter was called in by the Skysports team in hope of generating interest in the Hatton/Witter fight and Witter did his thing(Talk the fight up), Since hatton ducked the fight he and his Fans have come of with lame excuses after excuse on why the fight shouldnt happen.

The thing is, Witter has beat whoever has been in front of him, as of late, Corley and Harris, those are respectable wins, i mean, in america when your hometown rival is putting you down like that, people hear that ****, and eventually people ask why the **** you arent doing anything about it, Hatton is lucky he lives in a place where people love him so much they are willing to overlook it, but here i mean, just look at the situations you see everyday with different fighters running their mouth all the time, the situation here is justified.

Hatton ran his mouth to mayweather for years, and turned down fights with mayweather, yet still ran his mouth, what if witter did that? "Oh im not ready for hatton right now, but i have the style to beat him" this is a ****ing terrible double standard. If someone saying hed beat your ass for the last 7 years isnt enough to get you to get in that ring, then i dont know what else you can do.
