Well firstly, I didnt suggest Kessler was a yank!

An no neither are as good as prime RJJ - he was awesome, but I do think Calzaghe would have beat him at SMW all those years ago, because he is a better version of RJJ in his prime, Calzaghe is faster and more agile RJJ hits harder but Calzaghes chin is like Granite, RJJ's chin is suspect.

Lacy and Kessler were considered great champions at the time Calzaghe fought them, he beat them both emphatically and still gets no respect for beating them - I think that is wrong.

Calzaghe is one of the greatest, and to think Hopkins makes a chance is ludicrous! As a matter of fact, I think this is a mismatch! Hopkins has never been schooled/beat up but Joe is going to do it mark my mother****ing words. He will show the black man what true British boxing is all about. Calzaghe is a class act, while Hopkins is a ****** from the streets

hopkins will turn it into a dirty fight which joe would win by UD. I think that chad dawson is the only light heavyweight that i would say could beat calzaghe.

I still think the weight loss really destroyed him. He took clean shots before and wasn't bothered by it, except for his knockdown a while back, which he got right back up. Ruiz stunned him, but Ruiz is also a heavyweight, who put down Holyfield.

When he came back down to LH, he looked drain and pale (which says a lot being black).
The two hits that put him down were hard and flush. Tarver threw everything into it and Roy was throwing a punch at the same time. By the time he got to Glenn, it was a shot right on the side of head, clean, that put him down, and out, but it didn't help the back of his head slammed hard against the mat.

He looked lifeless compared to what he used to be.

Going back to your other post about Joe not being above Hopkins P4P. I rate Joe higher. Hopkins beat Tarver, who beat Jones Jr., sure, but funny thing is, the same thing happened to Tarver that happened to Jones Jr.: he increased his weight to become a Heavyweight, then took off the weight fast to fight again and Light-heavyweight and looked dead (against Hopkins). I'm glad Tarver found out what happened to Jones Jr., but it boosted Hopkins to much.

Prime Roy Jones Jr. beats Prime Joe Calzaghe. Joe never moved up and challenged Roy, that’s all I need to know. Hopkins, despite his talk of wanting a rematch, never made it happen, despite losing to Roy before…and didn’t even chase him to LH, that tells me something.

Lacy was overrated, the win was not; that was superb.. Kessler was very good fighter, his win was as well. Joe is #2, right behind Floyd, P4P right now.

I'm surprised this fight is happening.

Hop has more to gain. If Joe wins, everyone will say wow, he beat a 43 year old man.

he'll need to destroy him to get credit and Hopkins is to cagey and dirty to get destroyed by anyone. Calz wins a pretty wide UD, it is a crappy fight really.
