Mayweather v. Hatton PPV Buys: 850,000
total number for buys in the United States.

It proves that Mayweather doesn't have the drawing power he thinks he does. What he did with a name like Hatton, Oscar did with Mayorga who for the most part is unknown and though I like the guy he is really a C low B class fighter.
Hatton Mayweather made a mil but more then half of it came from the U.K. and I don't think the majority of people there were tunning in to watch Mayweather. Rather they were tunning in to watch Hatton beat Mayweather, which of course was wishful thinking cus boy didn't have a chance in hell.
He often uses PPV buys and numbers as an excuse to justify why he wont fight other fighters, yet with the exposure he has had because of De La Hoya and being the number one P4P fighter in the world he still cant make big numbers by himself, even with a name like Hatton.

What are you talking about? First off everyone knows Oscar is the biggest draw and not even Floyd would think he is bigger and as far as Oscar/Mayorga compared to Floyd/Hatton you think the casual fan knew who Hatton was here in the states before the Floyd fight? Yes, If you knew how to read you would see that I pointed that out in an earlier post. The point is overseas Hatton is the draw and the fight sold because it was people watching Hatton hoping he beats Mayweather, were it someone else it would not have did the numbers it did in the U.K..

Baldomir/Mayweather did over 300,000 buys. Do you honestly think that if Hatton fought Baldomir the fight would even be on PPV? I seriously doubt Hatton ever has another PPV in the States. Trinidad/Mayorga did over a half-a-million PPVs. So Mayorga was no rookie to the american public. If Mayweather fought Mayorga they might sale a million PPVs. Because those are 2 guys who know how to hype a fight.

One again.. I'm not denying that he is the #1 fighter at any weight class 154 and down.. but calling him the division King, while he only had 4 fights is overrating.
