I will say this, I have only his more recent fights, Cazares, this last fight with Esquer, and his fight with Barrera. Not impressed much with any of them.

Those are his recent fights, the ones that show him under fire and under pressure, and he didn't look as good as I've been told.

That is how I judge a fighter, on how they do against the hardest comp. But if any of you have any other fights, post them.

Compare that to Calderon, didn't he land something like 280 punches? So not only did Calderon make Esquire miss, he controlled the distance, effectively tripled esquire in connects, all while throwing about half as many punches.

Granted Calderon's hand speed was a little slow that night, and he wasn't punch as crisp as usual, but he completely dominated the fight through pure boxing.
*** the stats, they mean nothing. i dont believe that **** 90% of the time anyway.

id rather go by how I seen the fight not how the stats went.

Hey guys everybody has a bad night and i think caldreron has it that night. And i am not taking away merits to Esquer but he went short. But he makes a really great fight. The people that are calderon haters thay have also be mayweather haters because the too are almost the same in styles. Lets face it they are the best pure boxers in the sport right now.

Not to mention the factor I have been mentioning, the guy literally runs when under pressure(solid pressure) or hit solidly. I heard all about him and thought him to be my type of fighter, but upon watching him, I simply can't get into his style.
do you not understand?calderon was a small minimumweight.that's as small as you can get.floyd was a big superfeather,im not making the comparison between him and floyd.

Calderon is deffinately one the best pure boxers in the sport. He just disapointed me that night. Probably because i expected so much out of him, especially after that win over Cazares.

You really need to get more than his last four fights to judge him properly. He is a brilliant fighter. Definitely one of the best there is today. He doesn't get his props at all either which is unfortunate. I guess because he's only about two feet tall and fighting guys that he can't KO.

Nonetheless he doesn't run. He has a great counter punch and defensive style and sometimes because he doesn't hurt his opponents it seems as though he runs more than he does. Don't forget how much bigger his opponents are. Very similar to Floyd fighting Baldomir and De la Hoya in which he moved a lot and pot shotted the whole fights, Calderon can't just stand there and trade because he would be KO'ed. When he's on he puts together great combinations and goes for the KO but simply doesn't have the power against the bigger guys.

Anyway, his last fight wasn't his best. I hope it means he's not losing it because he still has some great fights out there for him and if he can win them he should be considered one of the best PR fighters ever.
