I agree with the point you're trying to make, but Taylor was an excellent fighter during that stage of his carreer. I think if he really wanted to prove himself he would've taken the 60/40 split RJJ offered him when he was undisputed champ @ 175 for the fight he craved so much. No chance in hell he would've won that fight, but that would've either exposed him or transcended his carreer.

I disagree with that, Taylor has also been spoon fed throughout his career. Thinking of it who has Taylor fought either? He feasted on many junior middleweights, blown up welterweights and former sparring partners to get to the title. He couldnt even win impressively against william sloppy. When he finally fought an aged Hopkins many had him losing it wasnt an imprerssive win and every time he has fought top notch oposition he doesnt do anything impressive. When he finally gets in with a young middleweight (An actual middleweight then he gets turned into a broken baseball bat) excellent fighter at any time in his career I disagree. Yes Hopkins doesnt have a top notch resume and he isnt outstanding but as stated he took the skills he had and made them work. He was not naturally gifted like Some fighters or born into a boxing family etc. But he took his average skills and made them work.Comment
