Actually, Cotto did say that it makes more sense to him to fight williams instead of margarito. margarito had his chance and opted to fight williams, and williams is better than margarito and has a belt was his reasons for rather fighting williams.

Do you have a source? I havent seen Cotto mention anything at all about Williams but he did mention 5 or 6 welterweights that a fight with them would be possible.

Ofcourse he would think Margarito won, Margarito could lose a onesided decision to anyone and Arum would still think his fighter got robbed, afterall he is his promoter, I gave 3 rounds to Margarito, 4 rounds if you really like Margarito. And also the rounds Margarito was winning were close rounds not clear apart from the round where Margarito hit Williams with good bodyshots.

Margarito was'nt a risk, williams is.

Floyd has the same reach as Tony, and Tony is only 3 inches taller, now Williams is 6'2 with an 82 inch reach. I have also seen both fighters fight at their best, Margarito would'nt have a chance in beating Floyd, whereas Williams would because of their styles.

And to answer your question if Floyd had beaten Margarito, people would talk about who is the undisputed welterweight champ? Floyd has the status of being #1 Welterweight because of the Baldomir win like or not + more money than the Margarito fight.
