Naseem Hamed... love him or hate him???

Well, this guy we all know is unique and i just wanted to know what people think of him. Also this kind of guys is a love or hate issue, there is no in between.
Do you like the guy?? hate him??

I personally like the guy, i just love his entrances, the way he fights and even though he is arrogant he puts a great show.

Liked his fight game inside the ring, disliked his media persona outside the ring.

Again, the persona wasn't the real him. I believe he's not actually arrogant or anything like that. He's the UK's Floyd Mayweather in terms of personality.

Liked his style. Liked his persona too. It was so over the top that you had to just laugh at it.

His best entrance has to be the one against Augie Sanchez.

Back in the day I hated him and loved (and still do) when Barrera beat him. Looking back on it now though, i liked his persona and his ring entrances. Plus he's fights were usually exciting.

His problem was that people figured out how to fight him. They recognized his poor balance and used it against him. And they made sure not to stand and exchange punches with him. Barrera did this to perfection after round 3 of their fight.

Hamed had great speed and a great punch. Problem was that he had really no fundamentals. He was clownish at times and outright ugly to watch. I've never seen a guy fight like that and I'm pretty sure now that I know why.

Sure, people are going to look at the M.A. Barrera fight and say, "Wow, Hamed wasn't anything special at all."

Thing is, Barrera is one of the true greats of the featherweight division. I would rank him in the top 10, maybe among the top 6 or 7.

And Barrera was the only guy who ever beat him. I personally think Morales beats him (having had the luxury of watching Morales-Pacquiao) and maybe J.M. Marquez. After that, there wasn't anybody I seen in the last 10-14 years that may have beaten Hamed.

I wouldn't call Naseem a great. I would say he falls one class below that. But I wouldn't outright dismiss him as a featherweight.

I personally believe that we just witnessed the greatest crop of featherweights since the early 80s. Was there ever another period that produced this many top of the line featherweights?

yeah i agree, but the difference is that i dont like mayweathers kind of arrogance, but i do like naz =P. for example i find that the fight with kelley, his entrance was great, i just laugh a lot with it, hahaha. and also when he entered the ring he inmediately went to face kelley and started talking **** xD...and when he was being presented, and michael buffer was saying champion of the woooooorld, naz said woooorld along with buffer on kelleys face =P.

well, i really want to know what people think of him, its a shame that i didnt liked boxing back then =P

In Britain, anybody who was over 20 by 1990 saw him as just Eubank's great pretender

Anybody who was 15-25 in 1995 saw Naz as the greatest thing since sliced bread, for five years straight

One of the goofiest boxers I've ever seen.

He had some original ring entrances though, some off the wall ****

he had no heart, he got beat once and fell apart. The guy is a tool, he ran someone over and drove off leaving the bloke for dead in the road. Got absolutely no time for him
