Sure why not. Afterall, Marquez is considered by many to be THE #1 Super Featherweight. He has the WBC belt and is recognized by many. What the hell was Hatton before Floyd beat him? A man that didn't belong in a division he already ****** in and dropped back down because he ****** in it? Then he goes back up to finally lose in the division he already knew he was bad in? Yup, that's an accomplishment. For me, Manny KOing Marquez would be huge but doubtful if he couldn't do it the first time around. I think if Manny does beat Marquez though, it would make him more solid as the #1 P4P. Marquez is a whole lot more than Hatton will ever be.

Precisely what I was thinking, but I do think Ricky Hatton is a very tough guy he's just limited by what he can do and his size. Plus he seems like a straight up good guy who is funny as hell. No disrespect to Ricky.

MArquez is pretty damn impressive for an old as **** guy. Granted he gets hit a little too much anymore but he is still a top dog no doubt and has the ability to fight or box and many shades in-between.

No I dont think so, p4p #1 spots have never been shared, and they should not be.
Regardless, Floyd is clear p4p number 1, and in order to lose that spot he needs to officially retire or lose.
It happend with Whitaker, Jones, Hopkins etc.
They never shared spots just because number 2 had a good win.

Keep in mind JMM is 34, with 51 fights.
Hatton is/was the younger, fresher, hungrier fighter I think.
