I agree with Anorak on this. Paul Williams is stylistically a nightmare for May. Huge reach, throws a million punches a round, & is a south-paw. And Mayweather isn't the biggest of guys either & the other big welters in the division are more like middleweights.

I don't see how he can land and not get hit against someone with Williams's reach/output... and I don't see how he can not accumulate severe damage, even though Williams isn't that big a puncher (for other natural welterweights).

Forget the plaudits around him, P4P will only stretch so far, and there's only so far that we should expect it to.

The guy's 5'8 with a 72" reach... is there any logical reason why we should expect him to beat a 6'1 guy with a ten inch reach advantage in Paul Williams? The guy who throws dozens of punches a round? Floyd is regarded as the P4P greatest boxer on Earth, not the greatest boxer full stop. Is 140 realistically where he should stop, pending exceptions?
good post, but floyd has to fight there because he is virtually untouchable at 140 and below. at 140 he has everything, including more power. 147 is a challenge because he is smaller than everybody.

This is what floyd did to others for most of his career.

If Floyd can beat Paul and Cotto only then will he go down as one of the best ever.

Right now I just don't see it. He has not cleared out 147 yet. He should have lost to Castillo. His biggest win was against a beat up Oscar and he has just come into the spotlight this year. Nobody cared about Floyd in 2005-2006.

Yeah I was thinking the same too. I think the tallest fighter he fought was N'Dou who's 6' but Williams is a south-paw. Mayweather is a very good fighter but he might not be able to over come all of the advantages that Williams has.

if you think that is his best win you havent followed his career very closely.

With that statement you must have just started watching boxing.

His true fans cared about him(include me). He was a beast at 130 and 135. So if you think Oscar was his best win, then you're very bias.

                    Edit:Just stick to the UFC

PBF has the speed to overcome Williams jab and size advantage. He's likely to slip in and out, landing and scoring points enroute to a decision. PW cant outbox Floyd.
