He may not be skilled like Taylor, but he gets the job done.
agreed, and i give him credit for a great win in what was the most exiting fight i saw all year.

I just don't see anything skillfull about Pavlik who walks forward and eats punches hoping he outlasts the other guy. I don't know if Taylor wins a rematch because he doesn't obey corners or live up to his potential, but the fact that he almost had Pavlik out in round 2 means he SHOULD have won and SHOULD win a rematch, but like you said, he's only 1/2 a fighter.
Bull****!!!! Pavlik took that fight. taylor had his chance to take him out and he wasn't able to, that had nothing to do with him not being mentally tough, give Pavlik credit for that, for going down and having the heart to get up and come back to knock taylor out. Taylor had many flaws and bad habits and his defense was one of them which is why he was alwasy so careful in fighting opponents that had no pop. Don't get me wrong he fougt some very good competition but B-Hop,Winky,Ouma,and Spinks are not known for a big punch. Say wat you wanty about Pavlik he still knocked tayolor the **** out and will do the same in the rematch.

You late on this one, but here's my thoughts. Taylor's got some real potential but he only defends himself when he needs to (like when he's against the ropes). He could be a better counter puncher and more alert. But once he gets that killer jab going, it's hard too stop him. Sometimes he's boring to watch because he dances around the ring so much. But i think he's got enough heart to win the rematch.

He always wants to be the counter puncher but needs to realize that he cannot let Pavlik back him uop and put him on the ropes because you see what he got. What he needs to to is come forward and try and back Pavlik up, but he is not that type of fighter and I beleive he will get knocked out in the rematch as well. He will definately fight more cautiously in the rematch, because you cant suffer a knockout like that and not have it in the back of your mind, and by being to cautious and not agressive enough could get him in trouble as well. Either way he loses the rematch.
