I think in the end, floyd really did get into hatton's head

when i look at what happened, and i look at how the fight played out, and when i look at how hatton fought and his postfight comments. Floyd and his trashtalk really did have an effect on how hatton fought to some degree. nobody fights with their emotions unless there is something innate going on to some degree causing them to want to come out the way hatton did. DLH tried to warn hatton that what mayweather says gets on your nerves.

Hatton went from saying he wasnt going to get into all of the bull**** trashtalk and bravado and other bull****, to doing it to some degree himself. Hatton wasnt really being his usual self after awhile, the throat slash gesture at last wednsdays press conference really showed me that something was definately different about his demeanor.

The fact that the magnitude of this fight was so huge, and the man he was in there with, and with the feeling that he wanted to not only make his own words reality, but make mayweather eat his probably had an effect, it had to have.

Hatton didnt do what i thought he was going to do, and he was dominated worse than i thought hed be and ill tell you why. Hatton smothered his own punches, he didint work well AT ALL on the inside and you can blame the ref if you want, but on the inside, it was mayweather going to he body with shortened uppercuts and hooks. Hatton never unloaded, he never gave himself the space to unload and he was so intent on imposing his will on mayweather, but mayweather wouldnt budge, as uncomfortable as he was early on, mayweather never backed down and never folded, and i think hatton honestly expected that.

Hattons downfall to me, was when mayweather really turned it up to the body, and the fact that i dont think he thought mayweather needed such little space to get off his punches. While hatton comes in wide, it is relativly quick, but mayweather is even quicker and needs less space to do so. The more hatton got his body assaulted, the worse off he was, by the 6th/7th/8th round it was starting to have an effect.

As far as the ref goes, i really dont give a ****, hatton was NOT working on the inside, he was mauling and mugging, i would feel bad if hatton was being his normal self and working, picking shots, backing up, unloading, thats not what was happening, thats why i dont understand how Cortez stopped hatton from doing what he was supposed to be doing, PUNCHING.

Cortez got into Hatton's fight and forced him to chase it with the interventions and point deduction.

Even as the knockout punch came, Floyd was hitting and running.

Yep, I'm afraid Mayweather did eventually get inside his head. And 24/7 didn't do Hatton any favours either.

side stepping a wide hook (same exact one Roger and Floyd were making fun of) and putting him out with one punch is not exactly running.

i don't think he was hitting and running all that much, the fight was either in the center of the ring or hatton was pressuring floyd against the ropes, albeit there were times that floyd waited and potshoted, as roger told him to do during the fight

Looking at how Hatton is taking the loss, I think Mayweather ultimately got in there as well.

he was going backwards for the length of the ring before he did that move. Hattton was chasing him.

He couldn't run in the earlier rounds because Hatton closed him down, but space opened in the later rounds to hit and run after Hatton took the punishment from Cortez's breaking up

Like I mentioned to another member before the fight; when Hatton jammed his face into Mayweather at the final press conference and Floyd grabbed Ricky's arms effectively calming down and controlling Hatton I knew for myself who was wearing the pants.

About the running thing, Floyd only "ran" at the start of the rounds when he was more relaxed. Very smart, because he knew that's when Hatton had the most energy, so he let the guy chase him and punch himself out early. Then, when both a bit more settled down, Floyd could work on him.

I agree with BlackJesus. Mayweather did get into his head a bit. It was surprising to me that it took such a long time, because I really don't believe Floyd was bothering him mentally untill the weigh-in. And maybe you could see it in the ring as well, but the main thing keeping hatton from doing what he does best, was Floyd Mayweather Jr.
