Mayweather Jr: Undefeated and The Undisputed Best

Having stayed up for the fight on Sunday morning and just read that article I feel mightily embarrassed being British. Not because I though Ricky Hatton let us down or anything, (he did his best at a weight he is not comfortable with against a supreme fighter), but because of the booing of the US national anthem.
I can only apologise on behalf of my country men - I'm sure it was not all of them. You don't need to tar us all with the same brush - we're not all bad! Sometimes the British sports fan has a habit of letting himself down when the passion for victory overwhelms him! But they are a MINORITY.
I thought it was a good fight and I gained a lot of respect for Mayweather in the end. I thought he was simply an arrogant dXXkhead before the fight, but he came accross as very gracious at the end and I have since found out that he reflects this side of his personality in his private life through some of the charity work he does.
A worthy champion and winner.
Fingers crossed for Calzaghe in 2008!!

I too have consolidated some respect for Floyd.
I still can't say I like the fellow's personal style but in the ring he's dynamite.
Going up in weights is a ****** ass game unless you are aiming for someone in particular who is dominant. I get fed up of all these posts about what weights fighters should move up to fight at. Choose the boxers not the weightclass. If the boxer you fight is a mediocre middleweight then he's mediocre. People buy into this bull**** too easily.
I will be very happy to see Floyd clear the top couple of welterweights. That will push him onto the ATG list for me. I never really cared that he moved up for DeLaHoya. Finish out the career with a couple more wins against top dominant fighters (Cotto and Williams) just like you did with Hatton.
Those two fights next year will make a great career into a stellar one.
Come on Floyd. I will pay good money to see those fights.
