He's a runner and his fights are boring. Hatton made that fight on Satuday night by chasing floyd and constantly applying pressure. otherwise, floyd's fights are a giant letdown.

I don't think Cotto has a good chance in this either. But he's earned the shot at the lineal title. He's beaten his benchmark (Judah) and his former champ (Mosley). Fighting fringe contenders like Williams and Cintron is beneath him now. They've not earned it. And just because we think May will win, doesn't mean he is exempted from the fight.

Also, the fact that Mayweather's fans are puerile and immature, not to mention boxing-ignorant, is a sign only of his popularity. He's the face of boxing to today's teenagers, the ones who don't remember a young Oscar or a young Roy Jones, let alone the 80's Tyson. That's why his fans are the most intolerable, it's nothing against Floyd himself.
