Cortez was the same ref for the Hatton-Castillo fight.

What happened to the 'no excuses' warcry from before the fight?

If Ricky Hatton was such a P4P candidate as many of his fans claimed, he would have made adjustments, and fought a much better fight.

All Mayweather did was prove how 1 dimensional Hatton is.

Lets be brutally honest, Ricky Hatton CANNOT fight at 147.

140 is his max. The Collazo fight is evidence enough, Hatton NEEDS to wrangle, maul, hold & hit, and wrestle his opponent to fatigue, then finish them.

He CANNOT do that against bigger opponents. Especially bigger guys who also happen to be slick boxers. Hatton's management made a dumb mistake picking Collazo as Ricky's first at 147. Then making his 2nd fight at 147 be with Mayweather is the definition of ******. Yeah, he made a lot of cash, but lost the '0'.

Whos fault is it that floyd tattoed his ass with that left hook that knocked hatton out?

Did joe cortez land any of the 158 punches hatton was hit with?

I saw him in foyds ear and corner just as much as hatton. All he did was make sure it was a boxing match and not a sumo wrestling match.

How about the pot calling the damn Kettle black. Watch the hatton vs Tzu fight again and you'll see Ricky spin Tzu hit him behind the head and follow up with a right hook!

Ricky was holding and hitting, low blows, leaning in with his head and using his elbows with NOOOOOOO WARNING not even for the HUGE low blows.

So please excuse me if I dont shed a tear for Cortez not allowing Hatton to do the same.

The English alway have someone to blame for there loss like in last Euro cup when Limpard scored a goal with and another player was cliching the keeper and your newspapers said it was the ref faults

HBO Team - Most people don't listen to their **** anyway
              David Haye - British
              Lennox Lewis - British
Jim Watt - Scottish or British or whatever he is
Ricky Hatton - Of course he says it, he lost
              Sky Sports - British channel
              Daily Telegraph - British newspaper

Seems to me the majority of these mother****ers whining about Hatton turning this **** into an UFC match are British

                Lets be honest about this.

Both fighters carried out 'illegal' moves during the fight.

Ricky held and hit, pushed in with his head and elbows and hit Floyd to the back of the head.

Floyd also held on and used his elbows and shoulders, turned his back and frequently ducked below waist height (just as illegal)

Cortez set his stall out from the start and jumped all over both fighters which spoiled the flow of the fight, the point deduction was bull**** because Floyd had turned away and ducked below waist height(in fact through the ropes) and the shot did not land.

Yes Hatton did throw shots to the top/back of Floyd's head but what do you expect if Floyd keeps ducking so low???

Did the referee change the outcome of the fight - No, definitely not, the best man won.
However if you understand the rules of Boxing you will agree that he must caution and deduct points from both fighters for breaking the rules in anyway.
                This was not the case.

When Cortez was breaking them Hatton turned Floyd around and attempted a deliberate shot at the back of his head.
There is no way you cannot deduct a point for an intentional illegal blow.

Cortez let Mayweather do whatever he wanted and penalised Ricky for everything. If you weren't so ****in biased towards the home fighter you'd see what the guys at the start of the thread seen.
