I think Hatton had the better chance of beating Mayweather with his speed and pressure, I think Cotto will be an easier fight then Hatton, Mayweather might not stop Cotto but he will make it look easy in my opinion.

          Anybody disagree?
Mosley is nowhere near Floyd's level. Cotto beating Mosley was a very nice win for Cotto, but it means nothing in regards to a fight against Floyd.

Most of the public doesn't know Cotto and here's just one professional opinion which seems to be a theme now immediately after the Hatton fight among respected writers:

"From here the questions will be about Miguel Cotto, a potentially great fight, but let’s be honest…Miguel’s people didn’t even breathe Floyd’s name until seven years into Cotto’s career and seem to have booked away from him already on the 2008 schedule without even attempting to negotiate the fight. The onus is on Miguel Cotto to prove he can beat Floyd and not the other way around. The onus is on anyone to beat Floyd and not the other way around. The first fighter in history to win the lineal titles at 130 and 147 has, with the Hatton win, has defeated the reigning kings of four weight classes in his career and he’s not done yet. He might not quite be Ray Robinson level (yet), but Floyd is knocking on the door of the top twenty fighters that ever lived if he’s not already there."

Hence, beating Cotto does not make you an "atg", it is your accumulated resume and Floyd now seems to be generally getting the respect he's always deserved, so... After giving so much back to boxing and helping to revive it in 2007 means that if Floyd is genuinely bored with boxing and has accomplished what no one else today has, then pressuring him and trying to bully him to meet your selfish needs or overwhelming expectations is definitely something that I find silly..

The pundits and media will lay the criticism on big time if Floyd persists in failing to fight Cotto. That WILL affect his legacy. Floyd has to take the fight.
Mosely aint never really been a slick boxer. He was always more of a boxer puncher and that may be a stretch. He was something like 39 wins with 37 KOes at 1 point. If you remember he was destroying everyone at 140lbs before he fought Oscar and then he went toe to toe with him and everyone else he fought since. Plus you gotta admit Shane is way past his prime and Cotto couldn't even stun him. Name me 1 good fighter Cotto has fought in his prime. You cant because he hasn't. Remember what happened to Tito when he fought Hops? He got outsmarted and out boxed. Floyd really aint got nothin left to prove to anyone. If thats the case then Cotto has to even prove that he is on Floyds level period. Floyd is the top dog now and Cotto is behind fighters like Pacman & Joe C. I think Cotto is good but I dont want to see what just happened to Hatton, happen to him. If he fought Antonio or Kermit or Paul then he would have that signature win. Fighting Shane and Zab aint to much to brag about these days. Floyd had Chico to get his defining win and IMOP that is what Cotto needs. I still want to see them fight no matter what though.

                  Re cotto vs Mayweather

Very tough fight for Floyd but Floyd's speed and experience along with fighting tougher opponents would be the difference. Mayweather doesnt have to prove himself anymore. Cotto wants a big payday and the money is with Floyd. Floyd will pick him apart, too smart and crafty for anyone at this point in his career.Give the man some credit.

What is it with this comment? Nowhere near? So, the guy who beat Oscar, FIRST and in his prime gets no credit, yet Mayweather beating De La Hoya SECOND and a SLIIIGHTLY faded version helps cement his legacy?

                    Just curious.

I'm not saying he's better than Floyd, but these comments are ridiculous.

Yesterday's fight does not change my prediction,

                      Mayweather UD.

Cotto is slow enough for Floyd to pot shot all night, Cotto is big enough for Floyd to WANT TO pot shot all night.
