If I had to put money on it I'd pick Mayweather. With that said, Cotto can win. He has a good chance at winning, a much better chance than Hatton ever did.

Their is always the chance of the lucky, one punch, KO for Cotto but since he is facing Floyd I doubt that will happen. Cotto still needs to fight more slick boxers before he messes with Floyd. If you watched his fights with Paulie and Shane, then you would know that when they started to box him, he was confused and took a lot of shots. Neither one of those guys are on the same planet as Floyd. Shane used to be but he aint no more. Floyd can either fight him the way he fought Hatton or the way he fought Oscar and get a win. Cotto only has one way to fight and he would be helpless against Floyd. If he tries to box & run like he did the last 3 rounds of the Mosely fight then he will really get killed. Plus I think if he really wants Floyd then he needs to fight in Vegas to prove his drawing power. Outside of MSG and P.R. he aint really been a major draw and its all about the money for Floyd.Comment

If Cotto can beat Mosely, he can beat Floyd. I don't know if he actually would beat Floyd. But, Cotto does not have to prove himself against more "slick boxers" before he gets Floyd. Mosely is as slick as they come.
The pundits and media will lay the criticism on big time if Floyd persists in failing to fight Cotto. That WILL affect his legacy. Floyd has to take the fight.Comment

It's a really tough fight. I'm gonna watch two or three of their last fights and make the decision. HOWEVER, I wouldn't HATE Mayweather if he retired. If you don't want to fight, don't fight. I'll watch somebody else.Comment

Cotto can't carry Floyd's jockstrap. Floyd wouldn't KO him like he did Hatton (Cotto doesn't jump in like that), but he'd pick him apart with the right hand all night long. Mosley easily hit Cotto every time he threw the right; Floyd would do the same.
