Floyd v. Cotto

Understand where you're coming from. But, you cannot ignore the fact that with the boxing public and insiders fighting Cotto is paramount now. Admit it and move on. If Floyd takes out Cotto...........then I'm there baby. Floyd will have to be an ATG. But, he has to do it.......people like Merchant and Steward reflect the general sentiment. It's time for Floyd to put up or shut up.Tough fight for Floyd, but no way I see him losing it. At the end of the day, he's deserved to make his own decisions. I can so easily ignore the silly accusations of him ducking people now, it isn't funny. It's just a passive way of disrespecting a great fighter who has proven himself over and over.
Anyways, Mayweather U.D.s Cotto, and I wouldn't be surprised if he stopped him.
By the way, I'm picking Cotto in a toss up if it happens.Comment

I'd take Cotto...like I have always said.
What are you...his personal assistant? We are fight fans talking on a message board. Who cares how long it has been? I thought we were here to discuss potential fights, among other things...Wiley, it's been 13 hours since he beat Hatton. 13 ****ing hours.
He WILL fight Cotto, but can the dude at least take a piss first?
Well yeah...Floyd does want to be the greatest of all-time right? You don't become the greatest of all-time by calling it a day after 39 fights. Floyd doesn't need him, but don't you still want to see the fight? I do...When the fight is made I will bet with everyone that chose Cotto to win. Floyd doesn't need Cotto at all. He has cemented his legacy by putting the works on a prime, elite, p4p fighter. Fighting Cotto would just put his position as an all time great higher on the list.
As long as Floyd can still fight at a high level and has love for the sport, we should all want to see him fight. The guy is a marvel to watch. A fight with Cotto is an excellent match up. Cotto is a bigger, better fighter than Hatton. Why not make this fight if the money is right?Comment

I think if FLoyd wants to retire thats what he should do, it would have no effect on his legacy. If Cotto can beat Mosely, he can beat Floyd. Whether or not Cotto would actually beat Floyd is another matter altogether. If Floyd ducks Cotto, the respect he just earned against Hatton will quickly evaporate. Fighting Cotto is a must....even if it's the last fight of Floyd's career.
Anybody disagree?
He doesnt need the Cotto fight.Comment

I said that, because Wiley has already made accusations of ducking Cotto, literally hours after the fight. I have no problem with discussing potiental fights, but that comment was made based on what I thought Wiley was implying based on his previous posts.I'd take Cotto...like I have always said.

I have to disagree. Public opinion will come down against Floyd heavily if he fails to fight Cotto. Merchant, Steward, and the media hold key and influential positions that you cannot ignore. If that fight is not agreed to within the next 3 months, you will even see The Ring join in the criticism. Mark my words.Comment
