I do agree, to a point, with the poster who said Cortez made it mayweather's fight. He did so early on, but when he realized they were still punching in there he stopped somewhere around the third round. Hatton has no excuses. Sadly, Mayweather won. A sad sad day for the dignity of boxing.
This is a great day for me and my people. The speciman known as Floyd Mayweather battled a whole nation and defeated it.

as much as i hate mayweather he utilised ricky good. no left body shots and left hooks at all tonight.

i didnt think hatton used his head that well. especially since the point deduction but no excuses ebcause mayweather was going to win it if hatton used the same tactics.

i still dont like mayweather for his banter and dissing but he beat my boy so i can give my respect to that. close enough fight until the ko which is more than what some expected.

good job mayweather. good job hatton too for going for the big fight.

**** all ya'll blowing up this site, so I couldn't post something sooner... HA!
I'm glad Mayweather ended it the way he did. Nothing up for debate. Just a brutal, late round KO.

I did feel the point deduction was unjustified though. And Mayweather was just as dirty, if not dirtier. He had his elbow and forearm in hatton's face all day.
I too thought the point deduction was a little soft.

And yes, Mayweather did fight dirty, because he had too. Hatton was being rough on the inside and Mayweather used all the tricks that make him a great fighter.

Like Hatton said himself, "It isn't a tickling contest"

Well, I've never believed Hatton to be incredible strong or a murderous puncher, as much as relentless and tiring to face.
Floyd deflected the strenght and power Ricky had, so he got worn out faster than I thought.
I expected Ricky to get pummeled a bit in the late rounds, but not knocked out like he was.

Floyd, of course, was underrated by fanboys.

Would the British fans have been as classy towards Floyd as he was to them?

mayweather fought the way he had to, he matched Ricky strength for strength on the inside and there was no hope for Hatton on the outside, simple. Soo much for that body shot that he gave Castillo.....All the hate Mayweather has taken in the past few weeks im glad he won...oh and the british fans were too damn disrespectful during the American anthem, for real.
