dude it was pretty clear that hatton was going to win this either way. cortez made even calls. i think the point deduction was called for. he didnt have to punch him in the back of the head. its called self control. the reach advantage was too big of a hill for little mac to venture up. once that i saw his ability to land on the way in was nullified i knew this would be a slow down fall until mayweather caught him with one behind the ear on his way in. i wanted hatton to win. im disappointed too but im not gonna blame the officials or choice of ring size.

    • Floyd's straight left hand/jab to the body most underrated punch ever??

I did feel the point deduction was unjustified though. And Mayweather was just as dirty, if not dirtier. He had his elbow and forearm in hatton's face all day.
yes he did, and he was warned just like hatton was, and actually mayweather fought hatton's fight and beat him this way. hatton clinges on to his opponents and floyd fought the best way he knew how to adjust to hatton. hatton just couldn't adjust to floyd mayweather jr. hatton fought a good fight and i have so much respect for him, but i'm still not a fan of his style because he made this fight ugly, and people are going to complain about cortez and more but cortez was fair and floyd got the knockout, i mean he knocked the **** out of ricky and did so by a counter left hook upstairs. plus, he went to ricky's body great in rounds 7 and 8 also. hatton, you have nothing to be ashamed of, you lost to the best fighter in the sport but you fought like you had to, to get the victory, you just came up short, great fight man.

              What fight did you watch?

Mayweather fought on his own terms and won on his own terms.

no, because he didn't land the jab the body onhatton like he did to other opponent's in the past. but, he went to his body great in the later rounds of the fight. floyd looked pretty slow in this fight, but he was just as smart as he ever was. floyd fought a great fight and adjusted to hatton very well, he's still the best. i wish he fights cotto because he would land the jab to his body very well.

you see, here's the problem with this statement though. you claimd he fought on his own terms and won on his own terms but if this was the case, the fight would not have looked so ugly, seeing how floyd didn't run like people on here claim and majority of the fight was broken up by cortez. it was only in the later rounds that the fight started to look smoother, not in the first 6 rounds though. floyd let hatton do what hatton does and floyd adjusted to what hatton was doing and fought hatton dirty some just like hatton was fighting him dirty. they both fought a little dirty but floyd adjusted to it, and kept his composure and got the victory by doing this. how did floyd fight on his own terms when hatton kept the fight on the inside and grabbed and held floyd just like floyd grabbed and held hatton and the ref warned them both. and, hatton took a swing at floyd while floyd's head was on the outside of the ropes. whether he landed the shot or not, he should not have taken it.

and, floyd won on his own terms because he caught ricky with a great counter left hook upstairs and knocked him out.

now, this isn't a jay z discussion but i'll respond to you by telling you this, it breaks his opponent's down, ****, ask sharmba mitchell, when he went down from a left jab to his body, and was tkoed by floyd this way. it does do damage psychologically and physically. mentally it does damage in the long run because the opponent's hand goes down to block it and leaves their face open for a right land, ask oscar this. step yo game up boy.
