I dont approve of his bull**** comments. I'm black and I didnt find no humor to that **** but we dont need other posters calling hopkins a n*****R.

Hopkins is an ass for saying that. I don't think he's really racist but after that I do think he's an idiot, I hope Calzaghe mops the flor with his ass.

I agree there is a double standard on this one, I don't think he should have said that.but,I wouldn't put N.igger and white boy on the same level of strength, i would actually compare white boy to black boy, not N.igger, way stronger and uncalled for.

beauty, you are such a sweet and intelligent person. I hate to see you waste your time in the presence of such ****** and reactionary emotionalism. They're taking the opportunity to express what they've always felt about black people and Hopkins' comments are just a convenience. Believe me, there's a scientifically proven correlation between IQ and racism, and it isn't a surprise that most people who post in this forum are about as smart as a moon rock.

Over technicality is the difference my friend. I can sit and discuss someone and say, "Yeah, this white boy", and mean absolutely nothing by it. Bernard may have meant something by it, but generally speaking.

However, no one can sit and have a conversation and say "Yeah, this n.igger" and it not be classified as anything other than a slur.

There's a definite double standard here but is anyone truly offended? Hopkins has made a name for himself by making outrageous statements and every time he makes outrageous statements people get outraged... So he thinks that the colour of his opponent's skin is an issue which affects his defeatability, big deal.

If you get offended by somebody who is intending on being offensive then they win and you lose. That's the way I see it.

Amazing how that is equal in your mind. I agree with everything else. However, the first part, no. That is not equal.

Well I expect you agree that it ought to be equal. By "is equal" I don't mean that a white person gets as offended as a black person. I mean in principle discriminating against someone on the basis of race is the same regardless of what the relevant race is.

But psychologically sure they are not the same. Here I allow for differences. For instance I would never use the word 'n*****' in front of older black people, because they have a greater right to sensitivity -- for people my age and younger I don't mind using it. But as time passes it becomes equal.

Joseph Goebbels, one of the most de****able men to grace this planet, can not be described as ******. It is convenient to dismiss racists as thick but unfortunately there are many people with racist views who are actually very intelligent which is why real racism must be challenged.

I'm a white boy, just not a racist one, and I take no offense to his comments. So what, he said he would never lose to a white boy. It's Boxing Promotion 101...threatened and offended white boys buy PPV's. Bernard would be made the bad guy regardless. It wasn't too long ago that the best black contenders weren't even given the opportunity to fight the beloved white champs like Dempsey. Black guys are dealing with this **** every day because of threatened white men scared to death of losing their positions of power.
