Classic tactic. Then they say its unreasonable to expect him to fight normal ATG talent because you're just a racist white hater who cant think straight, anyway

psh, i answered every question, since im at work, i went ahead and answered every single name on that list and came to the conclusion that cotto is the one that will give him credit as well as add to his legacy, only until williams and cintron fight each other will that fight also be viable between the winner.

Then after Oscar signs the fight, he runs his mouth acting like he wanted to fight him all that time, but his actions spoke otherwise.

Vernon Forrest just recently got himself back into the mix as far as being even a remotely marketable fighter in terms of matchups that matter. His long layoff, plus his contraversial desicion against quartey hurt his stock. His good showing against Baldomir and another good showing against Picirillo really benefitted him, but during this time, Mayweather had been at 147 for less than a year, Forrest fights at 154 and just RECENTLY brought himself back into any mix at all, even now he doesnt exactly deserve a mayweather shot, all he has right now is the belt mayweather vacated. I will say this, forrest is one of my fav fighters, ever, but his injuries ruined alot of big matchups he could have had, and his loss to mayorga was devastating to his career.

Spinks vs Mayweather almost happened at 154, but you know what happened? You all cried, and he pulled out, end of story.

Williams JUST WON a title against Margarito and before then, was seen as an up and coming prospect, at a time when Mayweather was chasing judah/de la hoya, williams was just coming up, a fight with mayweather wasnt really feasible, and now that mayweather is tied up with hatton, that fight isnt even a possibility until the rest of this welterweight mess is figured out, i dont even see why youd mention that.

Cintron? He has yet to fight somebody who matters, so whatever on that one, i like cintron, even after he lost to margarito, i never gave up on him, but Mayweather? Come on man, let him prove himself against Williams first.

Cotto just recently solidified himself in the division. Cotto was a prospect at 140 when mayweather was chasing a fight with Judah who was undisputed, AT THIS TIME NOW, yes a fight with Cotto would be excellent, out of all the choices you mentioned, hes the only one who is actually a deserving challanger in terms of having proved himself as well as solidifying legacies for both of them without any question marks.

Thats was a good post. I think you took it the wrong way, I didnt say he should have fought and beat everyone by now. He is in his prime and really should step and make the big meaningful fights. But that is his furture, I wonder what he will do with it.......

Floyd beats everyone.. but at welterweight, he STILL has a lot of work to do.
Dont bring that bull**** this way I aint just start watching boxing.

delahoya stop being a ***** and fight Cotto ...daaaaaaaaaaamn ...thats the only fight i want to see him in ... unless he wants to fight winky wright ... but other than that ...delahoya shouldnt even fight ricky unless he wins ... but if ricky wins ...delahoya doesnt really deserve to fight him , cause he hasnt been winning his fights ...
Really you could just replace oscar's name with Floyd's and you could make the same point... Or do I need to mention names like Gatti,Mitchell and Judah??

De La Hoya had enough vunerabilities especially early in his career that people felt they could exploit, with mayweather again, that wasnt the case. Saying Hatton doesnt make up for anything, by youre standard, nothing will, because if youre going to write off all his opponents, you might as well say hes a bum fighting nobodies.
WHY not????? Floyd himself writes off all his opponents and calls them BUMS...

man, i dont think you understand what that vargas win meant, maybe because im from california and the situation was more polarized for me than for you. Vargas had been chasing de la hoya his whole life, De La Hoya being from east la, and Vargas from oxnard, dude had been bad mouthing him since he started. It was a huge division, everyone going for de la hoya, but all the mexicans going for Vargas. Its one of the 2 instances de la hoya has been boo'ed before. Vargas taunted De La Hoya to no end, claiming he wasnt a real mexican, claiming he was a ***** and he was soft, and seeing as how de la hoya was at a crossroad in his career due to the fact that he also recently had sustained losses to shane mosley and trinidad, the fight was not only important to him, but if he lost, Vargas would have bragging rights forever.

so what? the idea of him saying that is that in comparison to him, their bums, hes breaking them down to their lowest level, letting them know they aint ****, its a trash talk tactic and if you ever played sports, you know exactly what he means. its the same reason you see most major sports stars on the field running their mouths, or on the court in the nba, he wants to let you know that you aint **** to get in your head. we all know the dudes he fights aint bums.
