Why does Delahoya piggy back fighters?

i think though....when you really think about it, everyone and their mama was chasing a fight with De La Hoya, from Wright, Forrest, Shane, Trinidad, everyone wanted a fight with him, this isnt the case with Mayweather, not even in the slightest. De La Hoya had enough vunerabilities especially early in his career that people felt they could exploit, with mayweather again, that wasnt the case. Saying Hatton doesnt make up for anything, by youre standard, nothing will, because if youre going to write off all his opponents, you might as well say hes a bum fighting nobodies.Comment

true he will fight cotto but i think he wil have a gd chance but i dont think cotto has as gd footwork or speed as mayweather.
I think he wil fight cotto then another big name then retire 41-0 great record to retire on if he gets it lol.Comment

Thats the thing he really does make his fights. Hes P4P without a doubt, the fights are his to make.
Dare to be great like Oscar did. Take your pick of options.
Mosley
Cotto
Forrest
Spinks
Williams
Cintron
Take a chance like Oscar did with Quartey(low money, high risk) and fight Margarito. Maybe even Josh Clottey, give Zab a rematch. Dare to be great.Comment

No, I think Mayweather is good. What he has done up to this point he deservers to be p4p #1.i think though....when you really think about it, everyone and their mama was chasing a fight with De La Hoya, from Wright, Forrest, Shane, Trinidad, everyone wanted a fight with him, this isnt the case with Mayweather, not even in the slightest. Maybe a few years ago but no way now. I have heard everybody call Floyd out. Really think of all the interviews, they want the shot at him.Comment

mayweather doesnt get any credit for the zab win in the first place, you think they are going to give him any credit for a rematch? clottey? people would just say hes ducking "insert champ name here", i think youre talking out of your ass with that because dude is never going to be great by most of the standards being held by you and most of the people here, so basically hes just going to do what hes gonna do and be judged byhistory.Comment

lol, I like how I gave 10 options and you choose to criticize the last two.mayweather doesnt get any credit for the zab win in the first place, you think they are going to give him any credit for a rematch? clottey? people would just say hes ducking "insert champ name here", i think youre talking out of your ass with that because dude is never going to be great by most of the standards being held by you and most of the people here, so basically hes just going to do what hes gonna do and be judged byhistory.Comment

He beats Vargas.. Chavez.. Whitaker.. and gets beaten cleanly by Mosley, and now all of a sudden.. He's a loser. He should have beaten Mosley, in the second fight. Also, you wanna take away Whitaker, than you give him Trinidad. So, he's had a decent run in big fights. Notice, he's been in there with amazing names.
Floyd beats everyone.. but at welterweight, he STILL has a lot of work to do.Comment

Fine, since you want me to break it all down for you.
Mosley was called out, even during his days at lightweight, then after Mosleys biggest win, the KO against Vargas, he OPENLY ducked mayweather saying he didint plan on fighting for the rest of the year (in july mind you) and missed his chance. Then after Oscar signs the fight, he runs his mouth acting like he wanted to fight him all that time, but his actions spoke otherwise.
Vernon Forrest just recently got himself back into the mix as far as being even a remotely marketable fighter in terms of matchups that matter. His long layoff, plus his contraversial desicion against quartey hurt his stock. His good showing against Baldomir and another good showing against Picirillo really benefitted him, but during this time, Mayweather had been at 147 for less than a year, Forrest fights at 154 and just RECENTLY brought himself back into any mix at all, even now he doesnt exactly deserve a mayweather shot, all he has right now is the belt mayweather vacated. I will say this, forrest is one of my fav fighters, ever, but his injuries ruined alot of big matchups he could have had, and his loss to mayorga was devastating to his career.
Spinks vs Mayweather almost happened at 154, but you know what happened? You all cried, and he pulled out, end of story.
Williams JUST WON a title against Margarito and before then, was seen as an up and coming prospect, at a time when Mayweather was chasing judah/de la hoya, williams was just coming up, a fight with mayweather wasnt really feasible, and now that mayweather is tied up with hatton, that fight isnt even a possibility until the rest of this welterweight mess is figured out, i dont even see why youd mention that.
Cintron? He has yet to fight somebody who matters, so whatever on that one, i like cintron, even after he lost to margarito, i never gave up on him, but Mayweather? Come on man, let him prove himself against Williams first.
Cotto just recently solidified himself in the division. Cotto was a prospect at 140 when mayweather was chasing a fight with Judah who was undisputed, AT THIS TIME NOW, yes a fight with Cotto would be excellent, out of all the choices you mentioned, hes the only one who is actually a deserving challanger in terms of having proved himself as well as solidifying legacies for both of them without any question marks.Comment
