Floyd retires after Hatton, win or lose

I think this is the end of the line for PBF. He's been complaining too much and, after watching the 24/7 I really get a feeling he's calling it quits (again). He has nothing left to fight for, in his mind, at least. He won't fight Cotto, DLH won't fight him again, and he isn't interested in Williams, Cintron, or Mosley. Who else is out there?

Nope, The Floyd Train has come to it's last stop. I still think he's going all at it with Hatton and isn't taking him lightly or training any less intensely, but I just don't think he really wants to continue in the game.

    Thoughts?

I believe Floyd is tired. I think he loves the sport, but is no longer 100% physsically, and it's tiring. I feel he is going to beat Hatton, and convincingly and retire. Maye 1 more fight, but that will be it. I believe he is going to continue with his promotion company. He'll always be connected to the sport. He can not fight forever and the longer he continues with his ailments, the sooner he will approach that dredded 0, which he vehemently resents the thought of.

I think the public will really push for a fight with Cotto and if he continues winning and eventually becomes the unified WBO WBA and IBF champ then it could actually tarnish PBF's legact if he didnt fight him. I think he will allow Cotto to clear out the division i.e. dispose of Margarito and Cintron/Williams winner and will fight him in his final bout next year for his 40th win.

If you look back in history many came back for that bout the public demanded for their legacy. And the few times they dont they have to go with a cloud over there shoulder ie. Lennox Lewis.

He's been talking retirement since the Judah fight (4-06), He's been around boxing all his life & I don't think his heart is in it anymore!

Fight Forrest? i dont think the public would really be interested in that and it would take Forrest a few years to build himself up to the level where people would want to see it. And seeing as how he's already 36 i really doubt that will happen. The only fighter that could bring Floyd the 20+ million Floyd would want would be a fight with Cotto in about a year or so after he beats Margarito and the Cintron/Williams winner.

I think you meant to say that Hatton retires Mayweather in this fight.

The option to fight again won't be Mayweather's to make. Unless Don King thinks there is money to be made watching 2 paraplegics drool on each other and gets a Mayweather v McLellan fight.

Actually I'd watch that. Alone. With no clothes on.
