Judah, Quintana Offered Paul Williams Title Shot

WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (33-0, 24KOs) is hunting for a new dance partner for Feb. 2 on HBO. Williams was hoping to move forward with a unification bout against IBF chmap Kermit Cintron, but that fight was shelved after Cintron injured his right hand in a tuneup win against Jesse Feliciano on November 23. Cintron's doctor told him to stay away from the ring until March. [details]

Williams depending alot on his height and southpaw position to make spacing between him and his oppenet for people who think Quintant is out or would get murder must think again.

Because now the position gap is closer for a southpaw vs southpaw and if Williams jabs is not effecitve then he would get beaten up badly

Cool.
          Well said!
If Judah ever gets his focus back I can see a competitive fight between Williams and himself. Zab has the speed and agility to use his reach against him, but we all know the Judah that fought Cotto would just get pummelled for 12 rounds straight by Williams. I think Zab should fight Quintana and Margarito after that. If he'll be able to beat them both I think he'll have the confidence to beat Williams.

I don't think Williams is a smart boxer or terrific puncher. The only thing he has going for him is his tall frame and his ability to keep on throwing. His worst nightmare is a slick counterpuncher (not meaning Judah, he's not really big on counterpunching). When that counterpuncher steps up I think he'll expose Williams.

No-one is ducking Williams, Judah fought Cotto and Mayweather why would he ducked williams? I hate when promoter twist things around to make there fighter look dangerous..Yes williams would probably beat Judah but the man is injured so why call him out or use his name? I hope they dont turn Paul williams to Fraudarito"The most overrated man in Boxing".

He either thinks Floyd will retire or that he isn't a factor at 147, hmmmmm. That being said Quintana-Williams will be a damn good fight.

HE HAS A CRACK IN HIS HAND.
HE CAN'T EVEN PUT GLOVES ON TIL JANUARY.
HOW DO EXPECT HIM TO FIGHT IN FEBRUARY.

****ing idiots, saying that they "turned it down"

Williams is overrated anyway, Zab would've handled him.

Have nothing against Paul though, he's a nice guy. Goosen shouldn't be talking that way.
Even if his had was good he would have turned down the fight. He is the lead runner to fight De la Hoya in May. No reason to kill that oppurtunity.

That is so true! I do think Williams is highly overrated with all of these people thinking he is being ducked. Is he a good fighter? Sure he is but in no way is he being ducked and I"m sick and tired of his team saying that. Just shut-up and fight someone on the 2nd and quit complaining and making stuff up so that your fighter seems more feared than he actually is. I know they will probably end up fighting Quintana and that is a good fight but in no way is he(Quintana) a top contender. Should be an easy win for Williams if he is as feared as they say he is.
