The Collazo beat Hatton argument is pointless, because :-

floyd has typified the view that hatton vs collazo is how we should view hattons welter prospects.5 weeks prior to that fight hattons team got that the news that hbo weren't keen on the light welter match up he was training for,and so collazo became a name they would be happy to screen, the fight was made, that gave no time to grow into the weight for ricky,he came in too heavy as in fat,he was sluggish and not himself,he got thru it took some bombs and got the decision..what about mayweather vs judah, floyd should have been disqualified by his uncle nearly choking zab to death..and i won't mention mayweather vs castillo no.1 we all know who won that....any hatton fans check out ebay soon for prints of my hatton mayweather fight drawing prints coming soon..

In my opinion the "Collazo beat Hatton" argument is pointless, because Castillo beat floyd, and the fact that Mayweather gave Castillo a rematch when Hatton didn't give Collazo one is cancelled out by Hatton beating Castillo in four rounds, so there's no point bringing either point up.

Hatton did'nt rematch Collazo because HBO & SKY had him winning the fight there was no uproar for a rematch by the fans etc

the same cannot be said about Castillo v Floyd 1 ,HBO had him losing the fight the punch stats were against him & most Boxing fans thought he lost the fight

this is why Hatton did'nt rematch & PBF did

Hatton vs Collazo II would have been pointless, Hatton would have won by a greater margin.

Actually it isnt pointless, Hatton promise Collazo a rematch because the fight was close..HBO and SKY both worked for Hatton so i wouldnt give any credit in that aspect...If the fight had happen in England and Hatton was the WBA champion with collazo getting a decision like that there would have been a loud outcry, So we shouldnt try to dismiss collazo in this.

If people keep bringing up the Castillo first fight with Mayweather then people would alway point in the Collazo/Hatton fight.

i buy hattons weight excuses. But if you take that away, there may have been cause for a rematch, but HBO probably wanted a bigger fight with a bigger name.
Collazo is a good fighter but he's not a big name.

i think it will benefit Hatton.

Floyd seems to have that fight in the back of his mind.

Floyd needs to have trained hard for this fight, harder than he has ever trained because he will have to fight at a pace higher than against DLH or anyone else.

i see u left out the bit about the outcry by the fans whom the majority thought PBF lost ,i did'nt hear any booing when Hatton beat Collazo

What bit? Mayweather rematch Castillo...Hatton failed to do that and he got away with it because nobody really cares about Collazo..He instead he ran back to fight yeah wait for it...Orango or utango...

Why is Floyd being discussed in a Collazo vs Hatton thread?
