why does people always blame floyd for not fighting kosata? why not blame kosta also. it's so easy to blame floyd for ****, it's not even funny, but when it comes to blaming the other party for the fight not happening, it's become very complicated to people on this forum.

I was reading where one guy said that Gatti had been in all these wars when Floyd got to him and he was a has been at the time and Floyd picked him even though he was a bum.

At the same time Buddy McGirt was named trainer of the year for his work with Tarver and Gatti. (nobody gets called trainer of the year for training a bum. )

Leading up to the fight with Floyd Gatti had not lost a fight in years and was on a hot streak and they had mentioned that he had new life thanks to Buddy and had not had a cut in a fight in over two years.

Leading up to the fight with Floyd here is a list of his wins

Fight 2 and 3 with Ward in which he won

Gianluco Branco who 32-0 when he fought Gatti for the vacant belt

Cotto would later go on to fight Branco and nobody says nothing about Cotto getting some of Gattis leftovers

Leonard Dorrin 22-0 Gatti finished him with a body shot

The tune up for Floyd was Jesse James Leija

After Floyd beat Gatti he went up to welteweight and KO'd the undefeated 5th ranked fighter that Danish Pastry Dammgard.

So what is the point in lying about Gatti being all beat up before he got to Floyd?

If you guys are gonna hate shouldn't you at least tell the truth? It makes your hate more believable when you spit facts.

Do u think a 'hater' should be fair and objective???

this goes in GREAT conjunction to what I said about Chavez in the other thread, a fighter is a fighter yo simple as that, gatti was a fighter and he beat some good, decent respectable Boxers it's just EVEN a fighter with good brawling habits con overpower a Boxer a la Vernon Forrest against Mayorga, but once fighters like that step up and fight ELITE BOXERS of their class they lose just like Gatti did, Chavez beat him some Boxers but LIKE I SAID a good enough FIGHTER can do that under the right given time, Vernon was number 1 when Mayorga did that to him in the WW division so it's possible..

I CAN see how a fighter like Chavez beats and Boxer like Camacho, a Boxer like El Chapo and get a draw with a Boxer like Sweet Pea, it all falls into how good of a FIGHTER Chavez is, same with Gatti, once he fought that 1 SUPER ELITE Boxer he lost and was seen to be the FIGHTER that he is.. Gatti earned some good wins yo no doubt, he certainly ain't as bad as people make him out to seem but he was a FIGHTER hence my comparison to Chavez whom was also a FIGHTER.. BOXERS like Floyd Mayweather are superior to FIGHTERS it's just anyone can get hit and HOW MUCH the hits take away from the fighter/boxer can affect whom wins or losses.. Gatti got himself some GOOD wins but when push came to shove he lost.. plain and simple but thats not to say Gatti wasn't good, he certainly was.. 100

he cried because he was happy to win the wbc 140 pound title, just like he cried when he defeated genero hernandez. this shows me that he really loves the sport and was just happy to win the way he did on his first ppv fight against a big name and a good fighter and that his hard work paid off and his patience was good, because he rose up the ranking after this fight, so gatti must have been better than what people give him credit for. he was happy that his family was there to watch him win another championship and his dedication to the sport paid off and he was just overjoyed and overwhelmed with grace for winning the fight. you can try to take away from his legacy but you can never hinder his love for the sport and his craft and hardwork he puts into it. i cried when he beat gatti also because i appreciated what he did that night and he finally made it to ppv and he worked so hard through the adversity he had to endure at the time, and he overcame all of it. he put on arguably the most sensulting, dominating performance of that lest decade. and, he did it in gatti's home turf. i've watch floyd since 1995 and i have never seen a figther so driven to win and so crafty and so confident to win, yet, do it with speed, power, and smartness like floyd showed that night, when he basically destroyed gatti in a lopsided fight. i cried with floyd because i knew what he was going through outside of the ring, and i knew the bad press he was recieving, and i was just so happy for him, and my appreciation for him grew even stronger because of his poise, confidence, and methodical style he brought to his fights and still does.

How can you be considered a great trainer if your fighter stays with the left under the stomach?? Gatti was a good fighter with good victories in superfeatherweights and junior welterweights but when he met Floyd was alredy ruined by De La Hoya and Ward (but his real ruin was his style).
And remember, he has won a upset of the year.

Yes, when Floyd had the match against Gatti the Canadian guy was an old bum
