    Just watched the collazo fight.

imo for people to put hatton in the top ten pfp is insane. he got knocked down by a b+ fighter, i dont care if it was scored or not. he could have easily lost that fight. he was hurt badly by collazo. i can only imagine the beating he is going to take from a much more skilled fighter and accurate puncher who has only slightly less power. and i wanted to watch the fight objectively, i thought i did, and i was very dissapointed with hattons performance, because i do think he is a good guy and would like to see him win pretty much every time he fights with the exception on dec 8. im not trying to flame, someone please explain to me why im wrong, because hatton reminded me a bit of gatti in the sense that he is very easy to hit. and i dont believe great fighters can have bad fights unless they are injured, so i dont want to hear that he just didnt bring his "a" game.

That was just a bad night for him IMO.

He looked fine against Castillo and Urango. Cept he was hurt to the body by Urango but never really out on his feet.

When did Hatton get knocked down? You do realise that a knockdown has to be the result of a punch, not a push right?

Stop with all this grading of fighters as well. B+? C-? What are you, Professor of Boxing at St Numbskulls Collegiate?

thanks for the reply, i may be wrong but, if you are a great fighter, is it possible to fight that much below your abilities if you are healthy. zab judah is a good fighter who fights way below his abilities, i just dont see how a fighter can give that type of performance against only a decent fighter and still have the amount of respect he has. if collazo was a great fighter i wouldnt have a problem with it, because he did win, but we all know that is not the case.

manny pacquiao was dropped and hurt by Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov and lost the first fight to erik morales, when morales was coming off a loss to mab.

of course, morales can't be great, since he had an off-night against espadas and later raheem.

oh, so i guess larry holmes wasn't great. he had hell with mike weaver and ken norton when norton was 35. shavers and snipes had holmes seriously hurt.

i guess ray robinson wasn't great. he lost to tiger jones and had a few close decisions before his tap dancing career.

maybe salvador sanchez wasn't great, he had some close fights.

in fact, hardly anyone is great, since you'd be hard pressed to find guys who didn't have some off nights or close fights here and there

umm obviously if you get hit by a punch and try to hold to stay on your feet and your opponent does not let you hold and you go down it is a knockdown. is there a rule that your opponent has to hold you up after he nails you with a good shot. you must not know boxing too well.

not to mention the trouble PBF had against Castillo then for Castillo later to be KO'd by Hatton later on. So by threadstarter's logic, PBF cant be great either.
