Ellerbe: "Mayweather could win a middleweight title"

In the latest installment of his inane ramblings, Floyd Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbe has made the quite ludicrous claim that Mayweather could win a middleweight title if he wanted to.

"You know, if Floyd really wanted to he could go on and win the middleweight title, if he really wanted to. So Floyd's operating at a level all by himself.

You can read the rest of this nonsense at this LINK.

I have no idea why Ellerbe insists on making these absurd claims or who is encouraging him to do so but he would be best advised to keep his mouth shut before someone takes note of what he says and carts him off to the funny farm where he will be in the company of those with similarly addled minds.

Off course he could depending on who he was fighting , but according to you Floyd cant win anything ,, in case you dont know Floyd has the boxing skills to get UDs over much bigger fighters than he is , its not about the weight its about who you are in with .

Wrong. I consider Mayweather to be the best P4P fighter on the planet but to suggest he could come through a fight with Taylor or Pavlik and emerge victorious is fanciful to say the least.

look what skills did for Spinks against Taylor, look what skills did for Taylor against Pavlik until the point where he was stopped, look what skills did for Oscar against Hopkins before he was also stopped, look what skills did for Sturm against Oscar before he was robbed, skills is the best feature a fighter can have, now y'all tell me who is the most skilled fighter we have currently Boxing in the middle divisions of Boxing? on top of the fact that Floyd has freakishly long arms for his weight he's also the type of skillful guy that would do just enough to win, not saying he can beat Pavlik and Taylor I'm just saying consider his skills and realize that not all belt holders at Middleweight can hang with such a skilled dude, they never said WHICH title he can win they just said he CAN win A TITLE, doesn't necessarily mean a major belt but it IS possible, he beat Oscar De La Hoya dogz at 154 you mean to tell me he can't put on 6 more pounds and do the same thing to one of those Middleweights? think outside of the box for a change.. 100

The phrase Ellerbe uses is "the middleweight title" which sounds to me like the one Pavlik has.

yea, he probly could. i doubt it would be against pavlik, but i think he can win A middleweight title with his skills, no doubt.
