It's safer then being in the NFL or being a pro wrestler.
Pro wrestling is like automatic death.

It would be hard to train off all that muscle and get you working smoothly. Football is completely different to boxing in terms of the demands on your body. Both require explosive strength of course but boxing requires more endurance. Two minutes is a hell of a long time to throw punches for.

How old are you? Either way it should be what you want to do. You'll regret you never went when your older and really wish you had. Just go without their conscent. I did it. I asked my mother and she said hell no. I said ok, I'm going anyway. She said fine, but if anything happens, don't say I gave you permission or was ok with it. I said ok. So I went on my own.

Another thing you can do is show them statistics on brain injuries and concussions in football and in boxing. But don't do that right away. Tell them that your boxing is for fitness for when your on the field, and then let things move along smoothly.

For the record my mother hates that I box, and I'm frigging 30!

It worked, cause they knew it was true. And it helped me too, because if it wasnt for wrestling and boxing i would of been caught up in that crowd because i wouldnt of had a reason to not to get into it.

haha.. my mum said she thought i would make a good boxer and encouraged me. I guess she had faith in me, either that or thought a good beating would sort out my cheeky mouth!
