What Is The Cause Of Vargas's Downfall?

Vargas can't even put 3 punches together anymore, 5 years ago vargas would have STOPPED mayorga, on accumilation of punches alone, when he was rocking mayorga in the 4 5 and 6th rounds he couldn't capatilize on them because he can't throw multiple punches anymore.

i've been hard on vargas, but i feel bad when i know a guy who if he boxed like he use too would destroy a guy who's beaten him.

What do you think was the cause of Vargas's downfall? and give me more then "trinidad" because trinidad doesn't have any effect on vargas being slow as malasses

Injuries to his back, most likely from steroid use. That and consecutive beatings. It takes a lot out of a person to really get yourself up for a fight and want to beat the other man's face in, just to get stomped on and knocked out.

The most obvious to me was the weight. He never fought at that weight and he seemed completely out of his element. Mayorga was the better man because he was in better physical shape. I believe if vargas was in better shape he would have done a little better. But he wasn't so therefore Mayorga won.

Steroids and his back were his downfall, Trinidad didnt "ruin" his career, its only puerto ricans that say that ****** ****, but its the steroids that ruined him badly.

And your right, if he boxed he could've beaten alot of fighters, he was a good boxer, hes underrated in that part, he was beating Tito every time he boxed..
