Kessler would have murdered the Tarver from the Hopkins-fight. C'mon Tarver even struggled with this D-class fighter from Albania.

Hold on a second, Bernard STARTED his career at 175, the only reason he fought at 160 is because he LOST his first professional fight. Hopkins last two fights were against good opponents, but what about the two that he LOST before that?

It's hard to say. very fighter is different. Some go down in skills before 35...others can still do 90% as well as prime when they hit upper 3s'...to fortys..Tyson fought best at 20 or so, yet Joe showed us his best at 34 and 35

Yeah, Joe does seem to be a late bloomer, but I think he was always pretty good, he just waited until late in his career to really step up in competition. Tyson fought at his best in his early 20s but then he didn't really face that stiff of competition until much later. Lennox Lewis, for sure, was at his best in his mid thirties, when he protected that jaw a bit more. I just hope Calzaghe isn't still fighting at 43, as his speed will have diminished quite a bit by then. A guy like Foreman, that wasn't fast to begin with was still competitive at almost 48 against Shannon Briggs, where someone like Roy Jones, who relied a lot on speed and reflexes, has diminished quite a bit already.

Hopkins fought all of his career at 160, so what he fought his first fight at 175 and that's not the reason he lost his first fight, he lost it cause it was a 4 rounder.

The point is Hopkins last 2 fights are more impressive then Calzaghe's whole career.

              Wright/Tarver > Kessler/Lacy

i don't think so. Wright is a natural 154 pounder and belongs more in the light middle division when he really dominates. Kessler and lacy are much better than tarver ,wright it evident now that Tarver is nowhere near the superstar i expected him to be after beating what seems to be a shot Jones. The largest case i can make is that Hopkins lost to the two best middleweights he fought, taylor and RJJ. People make out that Calzaghe never travels which he doesn't but neither does hopkins, the only time he travelled he got put flat on his ass, nearly lost and didn't travel again. Calzaghe will solidify his legacy and be remembered as the better fighter. If Hopkins beat Clinton Woods i might put him higher than calzaghe. A fight against RJJ now for Hopkins is pointless and doesn't prove anything.

No it isnt, but this thread was started by a Hopkins nutsucker who is trying to diminish Joes achievements because he is younger than Hopkins. If you ask me, retiring at the top is the sign of a disciplined fighter, fighting until you are 43 is the sign of a dreamer or a money grabber, Hopkins is both.

Wow, that was so wrong it actually made my head hurt trying to work out some kind of logic. Bernard IS AND ALWAYS WAS a light heavyweight, just because he boils down to a lower division so he can bully smaller guys doesnt mean he belongs in that division. Fact is, the little ***** lost his first fight and thought "**** this, I'll boil down and pick on people smaller than me".
As for losing a fight because it only lasts 4 rounds, I wasnt even sure it was possible to be that wrong. Many fighters struggle in their first few pro fights, no matter how many rounds they are going to last. BTW, I think its only fair to point out that Hopkins last two fights were against a bum and a blown up light middleweight. Yeah so Tarver knocked out RJJ, so? RJJ is shot, pretty much anyone could knock him out if they connect. Wright is nowhere near a light heavyweight no matter how much imagination you use. Your ignorance is truly astounding.
