This one is sadly indisputable - Hopkins agreed to fight Calzaghe in 2002 and then reneged on that deal. I hope history does not repeat itself. I'm surprised that the undisputed SMW champion is agreeing to concede home advantage and only take 49% of the purse. That is most certainly not pricing yourself out of the fight.

Trust me Calzaghe isnt getting 49% and it doesnt matter if he concede home advantage...He would probably end up getting 40% while B-hop gets 60%.

And am talking as a Joe fan.

GBP made an offer, which was less than Joe got against Kessler. So i guess he should go to America and fight for less money than he can get in the UK?

Hopkins was the big name?? He got 300K $!!!!! for his first fight after Trinidad, so stop talking bull****. Warren offered him 3M $ which was good offer, otherwise DonKing wouldn't have accepted it.
        YES!!!

If he has made as much money as is claimed fighting all these bums (with a few exceptions) in england and this fight would be as easy as he claims then whats the difference?

Let hopkins pay for his airfare, even fly economy, who cares! If this is all about legacy and trying to prove that he is the best then just do it and stop making excuses, let hopkins have whatever he wants and then go over and rip it all out from under him - again, if this fight is as easy as he claims/

The money will be there if he wins

If anyone thinks Calzaghe should take less money for the Hopkins fight (which will probably be his last one) than he can get for fighting at home then you're an idiot.

          Mayweather knows it.

What i dont get is that b hop talked so much **** and calzaghe responded by saying "yeah lets do it" but then b hop backs out. Dont talk **** if you aint gonna back it up. after he fights the winner of jones and trinidad I wonder what other fight is gonna come up that he would side step calzaghe. Oh well i say Calzaghe shouldn't worry about it and do his own thing. If the fight with hopkins is meant to happen it will.

Then why does he talk ****? You look ****** when you challenge someone, they accept, and you back out. Who looks like the coward in that situation? The person talking ****. Im saying that if hops is not interested in fighting joe he should keep his mouth shut.

Well i also read that they feel that the other fight would make more money. I really dont think so. i mean hopkins fought both these guys a long time ago. Lets say roy jones wins. him and b hop will once again encounter problems in regards to the split and that would be the end of that. If tito wins who wants to see hop fight someone he already knocked out years ago. I know i wouldn't. Calzaghe is hot right now and IMO he would be a bigger draw than Tito and Jones. I mean what big wins have these two done recently prior to this fight in january? None. Joe has wins over lacy and kessler who were undefeated and considered very dangerous at the time he fought them. I just dont get the logic of them saying that tito or jones will be bigger than calzaghe. Like I said earlier calzaghe should just say **** b hop and go after chad dawson or antonio tarver.

Hopkins is just talking out of his a$$. Perhaps he's been taking notes from the Mayweather camp.

Yes he is. for years hopkins defense of why he couldnt fight calazaghe was because joe didnt want to come to the US. Now when Joe states that he is willing to make the trip all of a sudden hopkins is not interested. Give me a break. Hopkins knows he is not ready for calzaghe and wants the winner of the jones fight as a warm up. Then whats gonna happen after that calzaghe will be no longer interested and then hopkins is gonna talk **** saying calzaghe is ducking him. Thats how i see it playing out.
