You really think he could beat Ibragimov? I seriously doubt it, Ibragimov would box circles around him, he's got a serious advantage in speed. Maskaev is the only champ I would give Thompson a remote chance to beat.

He reminds me of a southpaw heavyweight Glen Johnson. older man with high workrate, he doesnt do anything amazing or put a ton behind his punches, but hes a heavy guy anyway and you dont need to put a ton behind your punches when youre that big, he just tries to make them land flush. plus his defence is pretty solid

Krasniqi was not past it, he was knocked out by Brewster but was beating Brewster pretty one-sidedly. note this a Brewster that had just demolished Golota, and had taken tons of punishment to also stop Wladimir. Krasniqi was coming off a one sided win over Brain Minto, which is a good win, and did not look old at all. he didnt look old in the Thompson fight either, he was throwing good punches, he just got hit too much.
Thompson beat Timur more convincingly than Brock did. Timur is not too bad...he beat Timo Hoffman on sidedly right after the Thompson fight, and Timo just recently was able to knockdown and give trouble to Dimitrenko. and Timur...hes just makes boring fights. plus, Thompson beat him WITHOUT HIS SHOES! simply amazing. haha
Thompson beat Guinn, who was coming off a win over Audley Harrison. it was pretty one sided.
beat an undefeated Yanqui Diaz, who that same year knocked out Juan Carlos Gomez.
beat Vaugh Bean, who had only been beaten by Holyfield(decision) and lasted with Vitali till the 11th.

signed, the only Tony Thompson fan. lol.
but yea, its actually a decent record.

did you just say Yanqui Diaz(who is God btw) beat juan carlos gomez and vaughn bean, but lost a decision to holyfield and lasted with vitali for 11 rounds?

no no, every time i start a new line with 'beat', I mean Thompson did it haha. like this was how it was supposed to come out

honestly, its kind of a waste. I would have rather had Chagaev vs. Wlad, seems much more meaningful to me, and have Thompson and Ibragimov fight instead.

If the fight against Wlad ever comes around, Ill bet you Thompson lasts longer than Austin though. haha

I really do. He was not very impressed with how he fought a million year old Holyfield, and the Austin fight still sticks out in my mind too.

there would be a pretty huge size and reach for Thompson too.
Im actually kind of interested in how Ibragimov would fight when hes faced with another southpaw. Thompson has a pretty useful jab.

You know, I was thinking that when Wlad beats Ibragimov, Ibragimov might have to fight Thompson anyway, since I doubt that WBO will strip Wlad for not willing to fight Thompson immediately. Maybe we'll get our questions answered sooner than we think.

Thompson will go 12 rounds with Wlad, I think it'll be a technical boxing match not a go in and **** on the inside prime Brewster Tyson match. No this is going to be score points wit the jab and see who wins more rounds.

Common dmaclv, even you don't believe what you just posted. Sorry man, but Wlad would easily KO Thompson if they ever fight, it would be a waste of time. I would rather see Wlad fight Chagaev after he KO's Sultan.
